Job summary

DXC Technology in India is seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer to join our Insurance ISB team. You will work with COBOL, VSAM, JCL, DB2, CICS and related tools, coordinate deployment of major applications, and mentor junior engineers to ensure timely delivery.

The role emphasizes client interaction, solution design, and leadership within a complex business environment, with emphasis on communication, problem solving, and delivering scalable insurance platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with mainframe technologies (COBOL, VSAM, JCL, DB2, CICS).
• Hands-on experience with Rocket Software tools such as Enterprise Developer/Enterprise Analyzer, GitHub, Scheduler.

• Provide technical solutions to customer business needs and guide deployment.
• Lead the team and mentor junior engineers to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate effectively with customers, support personnel, and management.

Essential Job Functions

• Minimum 8 years of Experience on Mainframe technologies (COBOL, VSAM, JCL,DB2,CICS,Ezytrive,CA7,Xpeditor,File-Aid,Endeavor)
• Hands on experience on Rocket Software – Microfocus enterprise developer / Enterprise analyzer, GitHub, Scheduler etc.
• Life insurance Domain (Traditional/Universal Life/Variable UniveraslLife / Annuities)
• LOMA280/290 certifications will be added advantage
• Experience working in end to end deployment of a major application within a complex business environment
• Client management, resource management, basic project management and team leadership.
• Should be able to provide technical solution to customer’s business need and able to guide the team for deployment of solution
• Technically lead the team and mentor the junior team members to drive the delivery.
• Good communication skills to communicate with customers, support personnel, and management
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
