Job summary

Condor Footwear is seeking a senior professional to lead market strategy, product development, and cross-functional coordination across design, sourcing, and production in India. You will shape seasonal ranges, drive profitability, and steer category performance.

The role requires deep knowledge of footwear merchandising, market trends, and global sourcing (India & China). You will collaborate with design and sourcing teams to ensure timely launches and cost optimization.

• Strong experience in footwear merchandising with open footwear preferred.
• Excellent understanding of market trends and product lifecycle.
• Experience in category building and range planning.
• Exposure to global sourcing (India & China & other).

Responsibilities

• Lead market and product strategy with seasonal range planning and category strategy.
• Direct the design team on concepts, styles, and collections; guide silhouette, materials, costing, and construction.
• Coordinate cross-functionally between design, sourcing, and production; ensure on-time handover to technical teams.

Job description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Market & Product Strategy

• Identify market trends, consumer demand, and winning product categories
• Build and define seasonal range plans and category strategy
• Analyze competitor products and pricing to drive commercial decisions

2. Product Development Leadership

• Direct the design team on product concepts, styles, and collections
• Guide decisions on silhouette, materials, costing, and construction
• Ensure product development aligns with market demand and profitability

3. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Act as a bridge between design, sourcing, and production teams
• Ensure smooth handover of finalized designs to technical/pattern teams
• Track development timelines and ensure on-time execution

4. Sourcing & Vendor Development

• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers (India & China)
• Develop new vendors and manage existing supplier relationships
• Negotiate pricing, timelines, and ensure cost optimization

5. Commercial & Execution Focus

• Ensure products meet target price points and margin expectations
• Monitor sampling, approvals, and bulk production readiness
• Drive timely product launches and order execution
