Job summary

Ugaoo Agritech Pvt. Ltd., based in Pune, is seeking a data‑driven Merchandiser to optimize in‑store assortments and maximize product availability. You will translate consumer insights into planning strategies, balance freshness with bestsellers, and ensure high‑quality visual merchandising across stores.

Collaborating with operations, sourcing, and store teams, you will forecast demand, plan replenishments, and drive category performance through informed decisions and disciplined execution.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in retail merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Inventory & Assortment Planning: Ensure optimal product availability across all stores and manage assortment.
• Demand Forecasting & Order Management: Plan ordering cycles and forecast demand with cross‑functional teams.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with store ops and supply chain to improve fill rates and stock accuracy.
• Product Freshness & Visual Appeal: Maintain freshness targets with regular SKU rotations and merchandising updates.

Responsibilities:

Inventory & Assortment Planning

• Ensure optimal product availability across all stores, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory
• Monitor sales velocity and product performance to refine replenishment cycles
• Build and execute product lifecycle plans to maintain a balance between newness and bestsellers

Demand Forecasting & Order Management

• Plan monthly/fortnightly ordering cycles based on sales trends, store performance, and seasonality
• Forecast demand for own-branded products and align with production and supply chain teams
• Raise timely and accurate POs; track delivery adherence with store & warehouse team

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with store operations to troubleshoot product availability, stock discrepancies, and customer requirements
• Coordinate with the supply chain team to manage MOQs, lead times, and fill rates efficiently
• Ensure margin targets are met by aligning procurement with pricing and promotions strategy

Product Freshness & Visual Appeal

• Ensure freshness targets are met with regular SKU rotations and fast replenishments

What Success Looks Like

• Delivering Budgeted NSV & GM%
• Inventory cover maintained in advance and as per plan
• Healthy stock turn ratio across stores
• Strong fill rates and order fulfilment metrics
• Category-wise assortment availability and freshness index
• Seamless vendor and stakeholder coordination

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in retail merchandising, preferably in consumer or lifestyle categories
• Strong analytical skills—comfortable interpreting large data sets to drive decisions
• Experience in inventory management, demand forecasting, and assortment planning
• Collaborative and proactive mindset to work with operations, sourcing, and store teams
• A knack for balancing data with intuition—understanding what customers want before they do
