Job summary

Adani Group seeks an experienced MEP Manager to lead end-to-end execution of MEP works for hyperscale data centre projects. You will ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence while coordinating with design, procurement, commissioning, and client teams.

You will manage multiple contractors and vendors, drive interface management, risk mitigation, and successful handover to operations, with emphasis on reliability and NEC/FIDIC contract awareness.

Qualifications

• Total experience 10-20 years in MEP execution on large projects.
• Experience in hyperscale Data Centre construction is preferred.
• Hands-on with HVAC, Electrical, Cooling, Fire Protection, and ELV systems.
• Knowledge of NEC/FIDIC contracts and risk management.

Job description

The MEP Manager shall be responsible for planning, execution, coordination, monitoring, and delivery of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, HVAC, Utility, ELV, and associated infrastructure systems for hyperscale Data Centre projects. The role will ensure MEP works are delivered safely, within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with design, quality, and operational requirements.

The incumbent will work closely with Design, Project Management, Commissioning, Procurement, Quality, Contractors, Vendors, and Client teams to ensure seamless integration of all MEP systems critical to Data Centre operations.

Key Responsibilities

MEP Project Execution

• Lead end-to-end execution of MEP works across Data Centre construction projects.
• Monitor installation, testing, commissioning readiness, and handover activities.
• Ensure project delivery aligns with approved schedules, quality standards, and budgets.
• Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Architectural, and specialist system teams for interface management.
• Review construction methodologies and execution strategies.

Mechanical Systems Management

• Manage execution of:
• HVAC Systems
• Chilled Water Systems
• CRAH/CRAC Systems
• Cooling Towers
• Pumps and Heat Exchangers
• Fuel Systems
• Water Treatment Systems
• Plumbing & Drainage
• Fire Fighting & Fire Suppression Systems

Electrical Systems Management

• Oversee installation and integration of:

• Ensure reliability and redundancy requirements are achieved.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Manage multiple contractors, consultants, OEMs, and vendors.
• Monitor contractor productivity, quality, safety, and progress.
• Review contractor billing, variation requests, and change orders.
• Conduct progress review meetings and performance evaluations.

Planning & Monitoring

• Develop execution strategies and resource planning.
• Track project progress against baseline schedules.
• Identify risks and critical activities affecting project timelines.
• Coordinate with Project Controls and Planning teams for reporting and forecasting.
• Support recovery planning where schedule slippages occur.

Quality Management

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and approved drawings.
• Review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.
• Ensure timely closure of quality observations and NCRs.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and client stakeholders.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Ensure full compliance with AdaniConnex EHS standards and statutory requirements.
• Conduct safety reviews for high-risk MEP activities.
• Ensure contractors implement safe working procedures.
• Drive a zero-incident construction culture.

Procurement & Commercial Coordination

• Support procurement teams in technical evaluations and vendor selection.
• Participate in bid review and contract discussions.
• Monitor material availability and long-lead equipment procurement.
• Coordinate with Contracts and Commercial teams for claims, variations, and certifications.

Commissioning & Handover Support

• Coordinate with Commissioning (Cx) teams to ensure smooth transition from construction to testing and commissioning.
• Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST) activities.
• Ensure completion of punch-point closure and documentation.
• Manage final handover to Operations teams.

Educational Qualification

Mandatory

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

• Exposure to Tier III/Tier IV facility construction.

• Proven track record of handling multiple contractors and large-site execution teams.
• Experience managing projects exceeding 500 Cr.
• Strong understanding of commissioning readiness and operational reliability requirements.
