Job summary

Blackopal Group in India is seeking an experienced MEP Head Civil to lead and manage civil engineering activities within MEP projects, ensuring timely execution, quality, safety, and compliance with drawings and specifications. You will coordinate with MEP, structural, architectural, PMC, consultant, and contractor teams, supervise civil works, monitor schedules, and ensure QA/QC and HSE standards.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 6–12 years of relevant experience in civil construction/project execution, preferably in MEP, commercial, industrial, residential, hospital, data centre, or large-scale building projects.
• Strong experience in coordinating civil works with MEP services and multidisciplinary teams.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, drawings, specifications, BOQ, QA/QC, and site execution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of MS Project/Primavera is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil works associated with MEP projects from planning through execution and handover.
• Review and coordinate civil, structural, architectural, and MEP drawings to identify clashes and constructability issues.
• Supervise civil works such as equipment foundations, trenches, sleeves/openings, housekeeping pads, shafts, supports, utility areas, and related infrastructure.
• Coordinate with MEP, structural, architectural, PMC, consultant, and contractor teams.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules, manpower requirements, material planning, and execution strategies.
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, method statements, and quality standards.
• Monitor subcontractors and contractors for productivity, workmanship, and adherence to timelines.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements.
• Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, and material submissions.
• Identify site issues, resolve technical constraints, and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Track project progress, prepare MIS reports, and elevate delays or critical issues to management.
• Support quantity verification, measurement, billing, variation assessment, and cost control.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning support, snag rectification, and final project handover.
• Ensure proper documentation, as-built drawings, and project close-out records.
