Job Summary
The MEP Engineer will be responsible for planning, execution, coordination, supervision, quality control, and timely completion of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works at project sites. The role involves coordinating with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure MEP systems are installed as per approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical
- Supervise HVAC installation and commissioning.
- Monitor Fire Fighting & Fire Alarm system installation.
- Ensure proper installation of ventilation systems.
- Coordinate with consultants for technical approvals.
- Verify material specifications and quality standards.
Electrical
- Supervise HT/LT works.
- Monitor installation of transformers, DG sets, panels, and substations.
- Ensure installation of cable trays, wiring, lighting systems, and earthing.
- Coordinate electrical testing and commissioning.
- Verify electrical load calculations and drawings.
Plumbing
- Supervise plumbing and sanitary works.
- Ensure proper installation of water supply and drainage systems.
- Monitor STP/WTP, pumps, rainwater harvesting, and sewage systems.
- Conduct testing of pipelines before handover.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Civil, Architecture, and Structural teams.
- Review MEP drawings and resolve site clashes.
- Attend project coordination meetings.
- Ensure work execution according to approved drawings.
- Coordinate with consultants for inspections and approvals.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections.
- Prepare snag lists and ensure timely closure.
- Monitor contractor workmanship.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality records.
Planning & Execution
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.
- Monitor project progress.
- Ensure timely completion of MEP milestones.
- Review contractor progress against schedules.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Monitor contractor productivity.
- Verify contractor bills and work measurements.
- Coordinate procurement of MEP materials.
- Ensure timely material availability.
Safety
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards.
- Conduct toolbox talks.
- Monitor safe working practices.
- Ensure statutory compliance.
Documentation
- Review shop drawings.
- Maintain site records.
- Prepare DPR, WPR, and MPR reports.
- Verify as-built drawings.
- Coordinate handover documentation.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
- B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
- Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
(Preference to candidates having MEP specialization.)
