Job summary

Commandtech Cad & It is seeking an experienced BIM Project Lead in India to take ownership of BIM projects from initiation to handover. The role involves planning BEP, coordinating across architectural, structural and MEP disciplines, and ensuring compliance with BIM standards.

You will manage models, deliverables and information management within a CDE, while guiding junior staff and coordinating with external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Ownership and Planning

• Take full ownership of assigned BIM projects from kick-off to final handover
• Study client requirements, drawings and scope, and prepare the BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
• Break down project scope into tasks, set timelines and plan resource allocation
• Define LOD requirements, deliverables and submission schedules for each project stage
• Track project progress against deadlines and report status, risks and delays to management
• Coordinate with Project Manager on manpower requirements for upcoming projects

2. Internal Team, Vendor and Temporary Staff Coordination

• Act as the link between the BIM team, project managers, HR and management
• Coordinate with vendor companies on project requirements, deliverables and timelines
• Monitor the output and conduct of vendor and temporary staff and report any issues
• Share project updates and requirements clearly across all teams to avoid duplication or delay

3. BIM Modelling and Project Execution

• Oversee and coordinate architectural, structural and MEP BIM modelling activities to ensure alignment across all disciplines.
• Establish and implement project-specific BIM standards, including Revit templates, family libraries, naming conventions, work-sharing protocols and folder structures.
• Ensure BIM deliverables comply with the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP), client requirements, LOD/LOI specifications and applicable BIM standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary model federation, clash detection, issue tracking and resolution, ensuring timely closure of coordination issues.
• Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE), including model exchanges, information sharing, revision control and adherence to project information management protocols.
• Review and validate models, drawings, schedules and quantity take-offs for accuracy, completeness, consistency and compliance with project requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and validation of as-built models, asset information and handover documentation, including COBie data where required.
• Prepare BIM coordination reports, clash reports, model quality reports and progress updates for project management and client reviews.
• Support the BIM Manager / Project Manager in implementing BIM strategies, managing project risks and ensuring successful project delivery.

4. Quality Assurance and Technical Coordination

• Conduct model audits and quality checks before every submission
• Lead clash detection using Navisworks or similar tools and track clashes to closure
• Conduct coordination meetings with internal teams, consultants and clients
• Respond to RFIs and coordinate design changes across disciplines
• Maintain version control, revision logs and submission records
• Ensure compliance with company BIM standards and ISO 19650 guidelines
• Provide technical support and resolve software or modelling issues within the team

5. Training

• Conduct induction and software training for new joiners, trainees and temporary staff
• Train team members on company BIM standards, templates, workflows and the BEP
• Plan and deliver regular skill-upgrade sessions on Revit, Navisworks, Dynamo and related tools
• Guide trainees on live project work so they gain practical, job-ready experience
• Prepare and update training materials, exercises and standard operating procedures
• Assess trainee progress through practical tests and project reviews, and share feedback with Project Manager
• Identify trainees ready for deployment on projects or placement with vendor companies
