Job summary

Sanmar Matrix Metals Limited in Viralimalai (Trichy) invites applications for a Melting Supervisor with a background in steel foundry operations. You will oversee core shop planning, melting and pouring activities, and ensure production targets are met.

The ideal candidate has a BE/BTech or Diploma and 4+ years of foundry experience, with strong leadership, safety training, and a focus on continuous process improvement and rejection control.

Qualifications

• Qualification: B.E / B.Tech or Diploma.
• Experience: 4+ years from Steel Foundry industry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to production tonnage target and OTD.
• Review daily planning of Core Shop, Moulding, Melting and Pouring team.
• Ensure availability of raw materials for all the teams.
• Interact and direct teams on the daily plan.
• Ensure adherence of the teams to the plan by planning department.
• Ensure Man hour per ton is maintained as per requirement.
• Train workers on the procedures and safety practices.
• Inspect and ensure the updation of production log by the team.
• Co-ordinate and handle external audits.
• Continuous improvement of processes with lead times and quality checks.
• Coordinate with Quality department for tests at first stage.
• Review calibration of equipment and maintenance of machines.
• Avoid spillages.
• Analyse and monitor weights from moulding to pouring.
• Maximise usage of returns for melting without affecting quality.
• Analyse factors for rejections and direct reworks.

Maximise usage of returns for melting without affecting the quality.

3. Rejection Controls

Analyse the factors (Gaseous effect, shrinkage etc.,) for rejections.

Direct teams fo reworks and corrective actions for rejections.

Ensure NIL internal rejections.
