Job summary

Yash Group of Industries invites applications for the position of Head of Department – Melting. This shop-floor leadership role requires steering melting operations, ensuring correct charge mix and alloy additions, and meeting production targets with optimal energy use.

You will monitor furnace performance, implement SOPs, train operators, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while delivering daily and monthly production and energy KPI reports.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• 8–15 years of experience in foundry melting operations.
• Hands-on experience with induction furnaces and spectrometer control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and control all melting.
• Ensure correct charge mix, alloy additions, and chemical composition as per specifications.
• Achieve production targets with optimum yield, controlled power consumption, and minimum melting loss.
• Monitor furnace parameters, refractory life, and maintenance schedules.
• Implement and maintain SOPs for melting, pouring temperature, and metal quality.
• Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Maintenance departments.
• Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental norms.
• Analyze melting-related defects and take corrective and preventive actions.
• Train and develop operators and supervisors in best melting practices.
• Maintain daily and monthly reports on production, energy consumption, and KPIs.

Position: Head of Department – Melting

Department: Melting

Reports To: Plant Head

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and control all melting .
• Ensure correct charge mix, alloy additions, and chemical composition as per specifications.
• Achieve production targets with optimum yield, controlled power consumption, and minimum melting loss.
• Monitor furnace parameters, refractory life, and maintenance schedules.
• Implement and maintain SOPs for melting, pouring temperature, and metal quality.
• Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Maintenance departments.
• Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental norms.

Quality & Safety

• Ensure molten metal quality meets customer and internal standards.
• Enforce safety practices including PPE usage, molten metal handling, and emergency procedures.

Cost & Efficiency

• Control raw material consumption and alloy costs.
• Reduce power/fuel consumption and improve furnace efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Range: ₹40,000 to ₹60,000 per month (Negotiable, based on experience and skill)
