Job description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Coding Trainer – E&M to lead training initiatives focused on Evaluation & Management coding. The role involves mentoring coders, improving audit outcomes, and ensuring adherence to US healthcare compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver in-depth training on E&M coding guidelines (Office, Hospital, ER, Telehealth visits)
• Train teams on 2021/2023 E&M documentation and leveling guidelines
• Conduct new hire training, refresher sessions, and upskilling programs
• Review coding accuracy and support audit & quality improvement initiatives
• Develop training materials, case studies, and assessments
• Provide one-on-one coaching based on performance gaps
• Collaborate with QA and operations teams to improve coding quality
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer-specific guidelines

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong expertise in E&M coding (Evaluation & Management)
• Good understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Experience in training or mentoring medical coders
• Knowledge of medical necessity, documentation guidelines, and auditing
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification from AAPC (CPC, COC) or AHIMA (CCS)
• Experience handling physician coding (pro-fee)
• Exposure to EMR/EHR systems
