Mechanical Project Coordinator (AutoCAD)

Job summary

Supreme Allied Services is seeking an experienced CAD Draughtsman in Mumbai to coordinate mechanical project activities and prepare 2D AutoCAD drawings for mechanical, piping, and structural works. You will review GA drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics, prepare shop and installation drawings, and liaise with clients for approvals.

3-5 years in mechanical projects and strong drawing control skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical projects.
• Proficient in reading mechanical and piping drawings.
• Strong knowledge of 2D AutoCAD drafting and drawing control.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day mechanical project activities with PM, engineers, supervisors, fabrication team and site team.
• Prepare, review, and modify 2D AutoCAD drawings for mechanical, piping, structural, equipment, and fabrication requirements.
• Review engineering drawings, GA drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Prepare shop drawings, installation drawings, fabrication details, and as-built drawings as required.
• Coordinate with client/consultant for drawing approvals, clarifications, RFIs, and site requirements.
• Maintain drawing registers, document registers, material tracking sheets, and project coordination reports.
• Coordinate material requirements with procurement and monitor material availability at site/workshop.
• Coordinate fabrication and site installation activities as per drawings and project schedule.
• Follow up with departments to ensure timely completion of engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation activities.
• Identify drawing discrepancies, site constraints, and coordinate for resolution.
• Assist in quantity take-offs, material requisitions, BOQ verification, and measurement records.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection requirements, ITPs, and documentation.
• Monitor project progress and provide updates to the PM.
• Maintain records of approved/revised drawings and ensure latest revision is used onsite.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors as needed.
• Assist in preparing project schedules, manpower requirements, and work plans.
• Support billing team with drawings, quantities, measurements, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installation.
• Ensure activities comply with drawings, specs, safety requirements and company procedures.

Desired profile of the candidate

Technical Skills

• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D., RAVIT
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and piping drawings.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, GA drawings, isometric drawings, equipment layouts, and fabrication drawings.
• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment, piping, structural steel, supports, and installation activities.
• Knowledge of quantity take-off and material estimation.
• Good understanding of project documentation and drawing control.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and project reporting.
• Ability to coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, QA/QC, and site execution teams.
