Job summary

Deepak Phenolics in Dahej, Gujarat seeks a Planning Engineer to supervise and drive project planning, schedule and budget controls within a chemical/petrochemical setting.

You will manage cash flow projections, CAPEX budgets and risk analysis, coordinating with PM and audit teams while maintaining MIS KPIs and plant maintenance data.

Qualifications

• Requires B.E./B.Tech and PMP certification.
• 7–10 years experience in Chemical/Petrochemical industries.
• Knowledge of Primavera and SAP modules (PM/PS/MM), MS Projects.
• Experience with SAP master data creation and analytics tools.
• Proficient in Office 365, SharePoint and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall Project Planning, Monitoring & Control functions.
• Control Project Schedule and Budget; prepare CAPEX budgets.
• Provide cash flow projections and forecasts to manage cash.
• Develop Project Controls execution plan and forecasting.
• Maintain progress measurement system and forecast accuracy.
• Lead cost forecast process and change management.
• Ensure timely payment of contractor/vendor invoices.
• Coordinate audits and maintain Plant Maintenance master data.

Role: Planning Engineer

Reporting to: Engineer Head

Purpose: To perform and supervise, Planning related activities ensuring Project schedule control, Budget Control and monitoring as per standard engineering Practice.

• Responsible for Overall Project Planning, Monitoring & Control functions
• Responsible for Project Schedule control & Project Budget control
• Responsible for Preparation of Project CAPEX budget.
• Provides cash flow projections and forecasts to assist in managing to available cash
• Coordinate the development of Project Controls execution plan inclusive of the forecasting plan
• Responsible for the development of Progress measurement system
• Update and evaluate the accuracy of the project forecast by assessing actual cost incurred and physical progress achieved for all phases of project.
• Provide risk analysis, feedback and recommendations/ corrective measures to Project Manager.
• Determine formats, establish frequency and distribution for Project Controls reports
• Identify project performance issues & informed to PM
• Lead cost forecast process & change management process
• Responsible for timely payment of contractor & vendors invoices.
• Requires knowledge of the principals of cost estimating, scheduling, finance and contract administration
• Must have strong time and cost management skills
• Must possess strong communication management skills and presentation skills
• Must be able to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, clients and others in contact with the job.

• Responsible for MIS of Engineering KPIs.

• Responsible for Master Data Management related to Plant Maintenance.

Educational Qualification: B.E/ B-Tech in any discipline along with PMP certification

Years of Experience: 7-10 experience in Chemical/Petrochemical Industry

Knowledge:

• Requires knowledge of project management tools, such as Primavera, MS Projects etc.
• Requires knowledge in Project Cost controls/analysis/reporting
• Must have experience in Risk Management
• Must have knowledge of Project Management
• Must have experience of SAP-PM Master data creation e.g. Equipment/Functional Location, Task lists, Maintenance Plan, Class & Characteristics etc (Power Users/Super Users are preferred)
• Must have experience of SAP-PS e.g. Project Creation, WBS Creation, Project Budgeting, Budget Supplement, Project Closure etc
• Must have experience of SAP-MM transactional reports
• Must have experience of Office 365 tools, SharePoint & OneDrive
• Experience of working in Analytics tools e.g. Tableau or Power BI is Preferred
