Mechanical Piping Designer - Energy & Resources

We are looking for a Mechanical / Piping 3D Designer with expertise in Oil & Gas, Power, Food, and Industrial Plant Projects based in the Pune, India office. The role supports the delivery of complete mechanical detail design drawings.
Key Accountabilities
- Review the input received from clients to understand the scope of work and plan work accordingly without changing design intent.
- Prepare equipment modeling, piping modeling, 3D plant layout, general arrangement drawings, and pipe support details.
- Apply knowledge of pipe fittings, components, and pipe materials.
- Extract drawings for isometric and layout drawings.
- Use P&ID and PFDS for piping routine/modeling.
- Understand end‑client design and drafting systems and implement relevant standards.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, designers, and engineers as applicable.
- Coordinate with discipline leaders concerning project requirements.
- Visualize and produce clash‑free 3D models using Navisworks (or similar software).
- Work independently while demonstrating strong analytical capabilities.
- Commit to safe work practices.
- Provide input into projects with minimal supervision and prioritize work based on the project schedule.
Person Specifications
- B.E./B.Tech. or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; or I.T.I. Mech. draftsperson.
- Experience: 2–5 years for B.E./B.Tech., 3–5 years for Diploma, 5+ years for I.T.I.
- Mechanical/Piping CAD design experience on Oil & Gas, Power, Refinery, Food & Beverages, Industrial process plants/projects.
- 3D modelling and design experience using Piping & Mechanical software: Autodesk Plant 3D (must), Autodesk Revit (advantage), AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D.
- Experience delivering in a Plant 3D environment and using BIM 360/CAD data environments.
- Knowledge of ASME codes and standards, pipe fittings and materials.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Navisworks Manager.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; good team player.
- Basic knowledge of other engineering disciplines and interfaces.
- Advanced CAD software skills and support of design standards and procedures.
