Job summary

Stantec India invites a Process Mechanical Designer to join our Pune office. You will deliver mechanical detail design drawings for Water/Wastewater projects, coordinating across disciplines and BIM/CAD teams.

You should have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI Mech Draftsperson with 8–10 years (or 12+ for ITI) of experience and strong CAD/BIM skills including MicroStation, OpenPlant, Plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks. Join a global firm focused on sustainable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI Mech Draftsperson.
• Diploma holders: 8–10 years experience; ITI holders: 12+ years.
• Mechanical CAD/BIM experience on Water Industry projects.
• 3D modelling and CAD/BIM software such as MicroStation, OpenPlant, Plant 3D, Revit, AutoCAD.
• BIM standards and working in BIM environments; Navisworks experience.
• Good teamwork and communication; able to handle complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Review client scope and plan work without changing design intent.
• Prepare basic plant and site layouts and general arrangement drawings.
• Understand end-client design and drafting standards; implement in work.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and BIM/CAD leads.

Stantec is looking for Mechanical Designer with expertise in Mechanical detailing Water/ Wastewater applications based in the Pune, India office.

The Process Mechanical Designer role conducts and supports the delivery of complete mechanical detail design drawings associated Water/ Wastewater treatment plants.

Key Accountabilities

• Review the input received from client and understand the scope of work and then plan work accordingly without changing design intent.
• Preparation of Basic Plant / Site layouts, General arrangement drawings, etc.
• To be able to understand end-client design and drafting systems and standards implement in work.
• Coordination with other disciplines designers and engineers as applicable.
• Coordinate with BIM/CAD Lead concerning project requirements.
• Candidate should be able to visualize and produce clash free 3D model using Navisworks/Revit (and similar tools from Bentley suite of software)
• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Should be good team player.
• Able to provide input into projects with minimal supervision. Is able to prioritize work products based on project schedule.

Person Specifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; -OR- I.T.I. Mech. draftsperson.
• For Diploma 8-10 years’ experience. If I.T.I. 12 + years’ experience.
• Mechanical Computer Aided Design experience on Water Industry projects.
• 3D Modelling and design experience using Civil and Mechanical Software applications. - Bentley Microstation,
