Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Designer for Pune, India to deliver complete mechanical detail designs for Oil & GAS, Power, and Industrial projects. Role requires Revit expertise, Plant 3D experience, and strong CAD/BIM collaboration across disciplines.

The candidate should have 2–15 years of relevant experience depending on the education path and be capable of producing isometrics, layouts, and 3D models in accordance with project standards.

Qualifications

• B.E / B. Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI Mech draftsperson.
• Revit is a must; experience in Oil & GAS, Power, Refinery, Food & Beverages, Industrial plants.
• 3D modelling and design using piping & mechanical software; BIM/ACC/360 familiarity.
• Knowledge of ASME/ANSI standards and pipe fittings/materials.

Responsibilities

• Review client input and plan work without changing design intent.
• Prepare equipment modeling, piping modeling, 3D plant layout and GA drawings.
• Produce isometrics, layouts, and pipe support drawings.
• Knowledge of P&ID and PFDS for piping modeling.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and lead on clash-free 3D models using Navisworks.

Stantec is looking for Mechanical / Piping Designer with expertise in Oil & GAS, Power, Food, Industrial Plant Projects based in the Pune, India office.

The Mechanical / Piping Designer role conducts and supports the delivery of complete mechanical detail design drawings.

Person Specifications

• B.E / B. Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; or I.T.I. Mech. draftsperson.


• For B.E / B. Tech 2 - 5 years’ experience.


• For Diploma 3 - 5 years’ experience. If I.T.I. 5 + years’ experience.


• Mechanical / Piping with Revit experience on Oil & GAS, Power, Refinery, Food & Beverages, Industrial process plants/projects.


• 3D Modelling and design experience using Piping & Mechanical Software applications. - Autodesk Revit is must


• Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering in a Plant 3D environment.


• Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering using Common Data Environments like Autodesk ACC/BIM 360.


• Knowledge and project experience of Autodesk Navisworks Manager.


• Knowledge of ASME codes and Standards, Pipe fittings and materials


• Knowledge on Pipe specs creation and admin part in Plant 3D will be added advantage


• Good oral and written communication skills. Should be good team player.


• Fully competent in all conventional areas of subject matter or functional area.


• Devises new solutions to problems encountered.


• Good knowledge of other engineering disciplines needs and interfaces.


• Advanced CAD software skills in support of design.

Key Accountabilities

• Review the input received from clients and understand the scope of work and then plan work accordingly without changing design intent.


• Preparation of Equipment modeling, Piping modeling, 3D Plant Layout, General arrangement drawings, Pipe support etc.


• Good understanding of Pipe fittings, components, and Pipe materials


• Proficient in drawings extraction for Isometric and layout drawings


• Knowledge of P&ID and PFDS for Piping routine / modeling


• To be able to understand end-client design and drafting systems and standards implement in work.


• Coordination with other disciplines designers and engineers as applicable.


• Coordinate with discipline Lead concerning project requirements.


• Candidate should be able to visualize and produce clash free 3D model using Navisworks (and similar software tools)


• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work independently.


• Commitment to safe work practices.


• Able to provide input into projects with minimal supervision. can prioritize work based on project schedule.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: -

• B.E / B. Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.


• For B.E / B. Tech 8 - 10 years’ experience.


• For Diploma in Mechanical 12 - 15 years’ experience.


• PGD in Piping design will be added advantage


• Mechanical / Piping CAD Design experience on Oil & GAS, Power, Refinery, Food & Beverages, Industrial process plants/projects.


• Autodesk Revit is must


• Understanding of ASME and ANSI Standard, Regulations
