Job summary

GE Healthcare Private Limited seeks an Intern Mechanical to observe and perform various equipment service processes in a hospital radiology environment, driving customer satisfaction and ensuring proper functionality.

The role involves troubleshooting imaging equipment, planning maintenance, documenting actions, and collaborating with a local team to deliver efficient service while adhering to GE policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be current student or recent graduate within 6 months from an A.S., B.S. or M.S. Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging Technology or Mechanical Principles degree program or equivalent DOD military education.
• Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Experience interpreting schematic diagrams and troubleshooting/basic maintenance on imaging or biomedical equipment following current standards.

Responsibilities

• Work within hospital radiology environment to evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs.
• Under supervision, evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs; as assigned, perform planned maintenance (PM), safety, environmental inspections and maintain effective customer relations.
• Follow GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol and complete necessary documentation as guided.
• Complete Preventative Maintenance on designated equipment.
• Perform safety and environmental inspections ensuring compliance to Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines.
• Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
• Maintain approved parts inventory.
• Manage vendor's service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies, as instructed.
• Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
• As instructed, implement GE/customer facility contract, supporting business goals and objectives.
• Learn and ensure proper care of tools and test equipment and ensure calibration.
• Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment.
• Mentor with and assist more experienced technicians on progressive repairs and resolution, and work as a member of the local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within his/her assigned area.
• Meet Health and Human Services, as well as Environment Health and Safety requirements.

• Previous experience and/or course work in which you have successfully interpreted schematic diagrams and performed troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging, electronic equipment and/ or basic biomedical equipment following current standards, code, and procedures to ensure safe and effective operation of those devices.
• Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
• We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
• Must be willing to work in local area during the school year and summer.
