Assemble, install, commission and service our mechanical systems in the factory and at client sites working from drawings and solving problems on the floor.
Role & responsibilities
- Assemble structures, enclosures and sub-assemblies from drawings and BOMs.
- Install, align and commission mechanical systems at client sites, and hand over to the customer.
- Troubleshoot fit-up, alignment and assembly issues through to a fix.
- Coordinate with fabrication, welding, painting and electronics teams.
- Flag drawing errors, BOM gaps and design-for-assembly issues back to the design team.
- Maintain assembly and installation records, checklists and handover documents.
- Maintain tools, fixtures and mechanical equipment in the lab; follow safety and housekeeping standards.
Requirements
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 45 years of hands-on assembly and installation experience in fabrication, capital equipment, PEB or defence manufacturing.
- Reads mechanical and fabrication drawings confidently GD&T, fits and tolerances, weld symbols, BOMs.
- Hands-on with measuring instruments: vernier, micrometer, height gauge, dial indicator, bore gauge, spirit and laser level.
- Hands-on with workshop and power tools: drilling, grinding, tapping, torque tools, alignment and levelling tools.
- Strong practical troubleshooting on the floor, and willingness to travel to client sites.
Good to have
- AutoCAD / SolidWorks for reading and marking up drawings.
- Pneumatics, hydraulics and basic electrical/panel awareness.
- Rigging, lifting and material-handling experience.
- Exposure to defence, aerospace or capital equipment projects.
- Basic MS Excel for installation trackers and reports.
AutoCAD, and exposure to steel structures or defence/security equipment.
