Associated Industrial Furnaces seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Kolkata to lead erection, commissioning, and project delivery. You will interpret drawings, plan installations, manage safety and documentation, and coordinate with engineering and client teams to meet timelines.

The ideal candidate has a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of experience in construction project environments, with a proven track record in site supervision and field testing of mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Must hold a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Eight years of experience or more is required.
• Engineering knowledge in erection, commissioning, and project delivery.
• Strong documentation and safety compliance skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and prepare method statements for erection works.
• Modularization of erections for tendering and execution.
• Knowledge about erection tools, tackles, and hydraulic equipment; must have worked on construction projects.
• Ensure erection is done as per drawings provided by Engineering Department.
• Ensure site work complies with safety norms.
• Provide proper and timely documentation to Client/Consultant/Accounts Department/Erection vendors.
• Prepare supporting documents for erection invoices/supply invoices.
• Handle project activities including site inspection, readiness, erection, commissioning and final handover.
• Independently managed project activities from customer inspection to final payment release.
• Plan and schedule project activities.
• Coordinate with in-house engineering and customer operations to deliver Performance Guarantee tests.
• Train customer about Work Instruction & Procedures.
• Plan and execute installation work at customer site.
• Cost and time control of installation work.
• Ensure safety measures during E & C activities.
• Risk mitigation during site activities.
• Inspect and verify proper installation of burners, oil pumping heating and filtering units, oil and gas valve racks, BMS panel & hot air generator.
• Testing and troubleshooting of all supplied equipment and dry run tests.
• Review equipment submittals of commissioning scope and ensure compliance.

Job Overview

Most mechanical engineers work in manufacturing, research and development, or at companies that offer engineering services.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Interpret engineering drawing & make method Statements for all critical erection works


• Modularizations of erections of projects sites during tendering &execution Stage


• Knowledge about erection tools &tackles & hydraulic equipment for erection .Must have worked at construction Projects


• To ensure that the erection is done as per the drawings provided by the Engineering Department.


• To ensure that the work at site is done as per the safety norms.


• Ensuring proper and timely documentation to Client/Consultant/Accounts Department/Erection vendors


• Preparation of supporting documents for erection invoices/supply invoices


• Handling Project activities comprising site Inspection & Readiness, Erection, Commissioning and final plant handover.


• Have independently handled project activities from customer Inspection at our works to final payment release.


• Project planning and scheduling of project activities

• Assist procurement personnel in procuring mechanical equipment, materials and services, ensuring that the work produced complies with customer objectives and procedures
