Job summary

Cyient provides design engineering opportunities in automotive electrical harness design. The role focuses on sheet metal component design, harness routing in CATIA V5, and integration across subsystems to meet milestones.

You'll work with senior engineers, review design and drawings, assess manufacturability, and ensure compliance with standards. 4–7 years of relevant experience, based in Hyderabad or nearby, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with sheet metal component design and material selection.
• Proficient in electrical harness modeling in CATIA V5.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics for routing.
• Knowledge of GD&T per ASME, DIN, EN, ISO.
• Aero industry experience preferred.
• 4–7 years of related design experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal quality checks to ensure accuracy across deliveries.
• Assist senior engineers to meet milestones and KPIs.

Job description

Responsibilities

• To support in design activities as per project requirement and deliver with quality and respect timelines.
• Participates in design/ verification reviews and provide associated reports.
• Conduct self and team’s internal quality checks and ensure the accuracy and consistency all across deliveries.
• Technically assist Sr Engineers or Leads on meeting Project milestones and Stakeholder's KPI's.
• Maintains process related and applicable documents.
• Contributes to turn backs and RCAs.

Required Skills

• Thorough knowledge on Sheet metal component design, material and thickness selection.
• Competent on Electrical harness modeling in CATIA V5 – Electrical harness Routing (EHI) and Electrical Fitting installation (EFI).
• Independently handle Electrical harness modeling related to subsystem and car level.
• Able to interpret electrical schematics and good understanding and able to apply while routing the harness.
• Wire Bundle calculation.
• Selection of protection, connectors, conduit, etc…
• Good Knowledge of materials & mechanical characteristics.
• Ability to perform a weight assessment on assemblies, aggregates and installations.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing non-conformity and to validate a back-up solution.
• Ability to integrate manufacturing requirements in the design & perform dimensional stack up.
• Able to define fasteners and joint design.
• Able to do sheet metal Design & Drafting.
• Able to define the most suitable design according to the assembly criticality.
• Good knowledge of drawing rules and GDT&T using relevant standards ASME , DIN, EN, ISO,MIL,SAE and DO.
• Hands-on experience of CAD tools like Catia V5 and PLM platform like Teamcenter to create and validate 3D and 2D.
• Design of Mounting definitions for subsystems, with due consideration of boundary conditions & failure opportunities.
• Able to perform basic calculation on screwed assemblies.
• Knowledge on electrical components is preferred.
• Candidates from Aero industry experience is preffered.
