Job summary

Leadership Talent Hunters in Bengaluru seeks a Mechanical Engineer for a Global Medical Tech Solutions Provider. The role focuses on mechanical design, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration within the global production network.

You will lead design and validation activities, evaluate manufacturability, perform DFMEA, and drive ECO processes. Experience with medical devices and CAD SolidWorks is preferred; 4–8 years in product design and development is expected.

Qualifications

• Understanding of mechanical design and system requirements.
• Experience in design of Electro-Mechanical products (medical devices, consumer appliances).
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies including injection molding, silicones, precision machining & sheet metal.
• Experience in material selection & finishing processes.
• Design calculations and optimization for component & system level; GD&T and stack-up analysis.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a Global Medical Tech Solutions Provider.

Job Profile:

Understanding of Mechanical design & requirements of the system/product.

Own & lead the investigation of production and field issues/failures.

Understand the technical issues and drive the root cause analysis.

Collaborate with engineering and global production team to provide design solutions.

Plan the timelines & execute the project for closures as per commitments.

Research design options for product enhancements, cost, durability & production yield improvements & perform necessary experiments to determine potential design feasibility.

Evaluate researched options from various aspects (manufacturability, usability, ID, DFMEA, cost) & enable cross- functional teams to take decisions on concept directions.

Perform design simulations, design calculations, tolerance analysis & DFMEA to have robust design.

Prototype, build and execute test protocols to verify the design solutions.

Have a system level thinking & partner closely with cross functional teams like Industrial design, Electrical, Manufacturing, Marketing, Service, Quality, Regulatory teams as needed.

Address component obsolescence by identifying, evaluating, and qualifying alternative mechanical/electromechanical parts or materials

Own the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process from impact assessment to implementation, ensuring accurate documentation.

Support in compliance testing and country registrations for products in production.

Work efficiently with cross functional and production teams to deliver the assigned task/project with quality within the timelines.

Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or Product design (Mechanical)

4-8 years’ experience in complete lifecycle of Product Design and Development.

Experience in design of Electro-Mechanical products (Ex: Medical devices, Consumer appliances)

Experience in working in designs for various manufacturing technologies including plastic injection molding, silicones, precision machining & sheet metal.

Experience in selection of materials & various finishing processes.

Design calculation and optimization for component & system level, strong foundation and working knowledge in GD & T & stack up analysis.

Exposure to solving thermal management within the device and successfully handled thermal problems in the projects.

Experience with rapid prototype and different prototyping techniques for building proof of concept and Functional prototype for testing.

Good analytical skills in problem solving, identify the technical risk and mitigating them systematically.

Able to work in new areas and propose solutions to the problems related to system level that not confined to only mechanical stream.

Hands on Experience with CAD software’s like SolidWorks with exposure to surface modelling, skeleton model/Master model concept.

Able to work independently & experience with working in cross functional teams.

Medical devices product development experience will be an added advantage.

Experience with Medical Device Directive (MDD), ISO 13485, Design controls or similar regulatory environment and QMS will be an added advantage.
