Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Designer for its Pune, India office to deliver mechanical detailing for Water and Wastewater applications. The role focuses on complete 3D modelling and plant layout development, using CAD/BIM software within a BIM environment.

Candidate should have diploma/ITI with extensive CAD/BIM experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team. BIM collaboration and project coordination are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI with relevant experience in mechanical drafting.
• Experience in Water/Wastewater projects preferred.
• Proficient in CAD/BIM standards and deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of BIM tools and data environments.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review client input and plan work without changing design intent.
• Prepare Basic Plant / Site layouts and general arrangement drawings.
• Understand end-client design and drafting systems and standards.
• Coordinate with other discipline designers and engineers.
• Coordinate with BIM/CAD Lead on project requirements.
• Produce clash-free 3D models using Navisworks/Revit.
• Show strong analytical capabilities and work independently.
• Maintain good oral and written communication; prioritize tasks.

Stantec is looking for Mechanical Designer with expertise in Mechanical detailing Water/ Wastewater applications based in the Pune, India office.

The Process Mechanical Designer role conducts and supports the delivery of complete mechanical detail design drawings associated Water/ Wastewater treatment plants.

Person Specifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; -OR- I.T.I. Mech. draftsperson.


• For Diploma 8-10 years’ experience. If I.T.I. 12 + years’ experience.


• Mechanical Computer Aided Design experience on Water Industry projects.


• 3D Modelling and design experience using Civil and Mechanical Software applications.

Key Accountabilities

• Review the input received from client and understand the scope of work and then plan work accordingly without changing design intent.


• Preparation of Basic Plant / Site layouts, General arrangement drawings, etc.


• To be able to understand end-client design and drafting systems and standards implement in work.


• Coordination with other disciplines designers and engineers as applicable.


• Coordinate with BIM/CAD Lead concerning project requirements.


• Candidate should be able to visualize andproduce clash free 3D model using Navisworks/Revit (and similar tools from Bentley suite of software)


• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work independently.


• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Able to provide input into projects with minimal supervision. Is able to prioritize work products based on project schedule.
