Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a seasoned Mechanical Draughtsman to lead design and drafting for life sciences facilities in India. You will develop piping layouts, isometrics, and utility buildings using Revit, while coordinating with Process, HVAC, Electrical and Civil teams for accurate multidiscipline models.

Ideal candidates have ITI in Mechanical/Piping Draughtsman with 10+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Plant 3D.

Qualifications

• ITI in Mechanical/Piping Draughtsman with 10+ years in life sciences design.
• Proficient in Revit for multi-discipline model development.
• Experience coordinating with Process, HVAC, Electrical and Civil teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver design/drafting for mechanical, utilities and piping systems.
• Prepare utility layouts: boiler house, gas bank and building utilities.
• Create piping layouts, MTO calculations, isometrics, and nozzle orientation.
• Coordinate inputs with other disciplines and review input drawings.
• Develop Revit models, family templates and clash resolution.
• Support vendor drawing reviews and multidiscipline model accuracy.

Job Description

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for talented Mechanical Designers to join our dedicated team at our Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad locations.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver design and drafting activities for Mechanical, clean/black utilities, and piping systems in life science facilities.
• Prepare utility building layout, boiler house layout, and gas bank layout.
• Prepare utility foundation layout.
• Prepare internal/external piping layout with sections.
• Calculate piping MTO, isometric drawings, and nozzle orientation layout.
• Independently coordinate with other disciplines for inputs.
• Review input drawings like civil structural pipe rack, civil foundation, RCP, and fire system layouts.
• Prepare insert plate, puddle flanges, input drawings, utility pendent/pipe in pipe layouts.
• Prepare laboratory gases piping layouts and process drain services layouts.
• Prepare black & clean utilities generation, distribution P&IDs.
• Prepare clean utility piping.
• Develop and manage Revit models, families, templates, and clash resolution.
• Support engineers in vendor drawing reviews.
• Coordinate with Process, HVAC, Electrical, Civil/Arch teams for multidiscipline model accuracy.

Qualifications & Requirements

• ITI in Mechanical/Piping Draughtsman or recognized other institute with 10+ years’ experience in life sciences design consultancy.
• Any other course would be an added advantage.
• Proficient in Revit.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fire protection system knowledge.
• Certificate course in Auto CAD/Revit.
• Autodesk Plant 3D.
