Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3–8 years in mechanical design for Transformers or heavy engineering.
• Experience with CAD/3D modelling tools; Creo preferred.
• Knowledge of IEC and global standards.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Work with design and engineering team on Traction Transformer design.
• Develop mechanical designs for orders and tender projects per strategy.
• Prepare customer documents, manufacturing drawings, BOMs and submissions.
• Understand transformer mechanical design, thermal, dielectrics, short‑circuit and sound.
• Coordinate design activities across worldwide factories network.
• Participate in internal design concept reviews.
• Demonstrated teamwork and networking; collaborate with global teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and Hitachi Energy values.

How you'll make an impact

• The success candidate will be the part of Design and Engineering Team specialized in Traction Transformer design.
• Responsible for mechanical development of Traction Transformer's order and tender designs in compliance with the Market and Sales Strategy to meet the market needs.
• Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc & submission to customer as per project schedule.
• Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics
• Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Participation in internal design concept reviews.
• Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

• B.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-8 Years Experience working in Mechanical design for Transformers/ Heavy Engineering industry/ pump/ Bearing/ Gear/ Automobiles manufacturing Industry.
• Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. Creo is considered as an advantage.
• Experience in Windchill PLM is desirable.
• Should understand Mechanical Design concepts & calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and electromechanical.
• Should have good understanding of IEC Standards & Global Standards.
• Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
• Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.
