Job summary

Sweco is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing) in Gurgaon to work on European projects, with preference for Swedish projects. The role requires 4–8 years of experience and a B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical.

You will collaborate with skilled designers to develop optimal plumbing designs, perform calculations, and produce detailed layouts for domestic water, drainage, and piping systems. Preference given to candidates familiar with CAD/3D coordination.

Qualifications

• Conversant with European/ Swedish codes/ standards & Regulations.
• Strong interpersonal/ team working skills and good English communication.
• Consultancy environment experience with good analysis skills.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, Revit, Solibri, Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Create plumbing design including preparation of design, calculations, details, and specifications for domestic water and piping systems.
• Select equipment and prepare layouts accordingly.
• Prepare calculations ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
• Contribute to design thinking and project quality across teams.
• Detail design via 3D modeling and clash-free coordination with services.
• Research, plan, design and develop sustainable mechanical systems.
• Operate in supervised and unsupervised environments within timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with Swedish colleagues to overcome obstacles and deliver elegant designs.

Position- Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing)

Role Summary-

We are looking for Mechanical (Plumbing) Engineers with professional experience from similar industry to join our team in Gurgaon & work in European projects and preference to Swedish projects.

WORK TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• To work in close collaboration with skilled designers to create an optimal plumbing design including the preparation of design, calculations, details, specification within domestic water, plumbing and general piping system.
• Select equipment and prepare equipment and layouts accordingly
• Prepare calculations on said design, ensuring compliance with applicable standards
• You will be requested to think critically about solutions and designs
• You will be given the responsibility to ensure quality on your projects
• Evaluating design drawings, data, proposals, specifications and calculations for mechanical systems to satisfy target requirements throughout the design process and contribute to content and direction.
• Detail design of the system by preparing a 3D model and coordinating among the services for a clash free system.
• You will be expected to involve in researching, planning, designing and developing sustainable mechanical systems
• To work in both supervised and unsupervised environments ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and carried out in accordance within agreed timescales and within agreed budgets
• You will work in close collaboration with our Swedish colleagues overcoming obstacles and making elegant designs

Professional Experience Required

• Conversant with European/ Swedish codes/ standards & Regulations
• Strong interpersonal/ team working skills & Good English communication skills
• Consultancy environment experience with good analysis skills
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, Revit, Solibri, Navisworks software
• Tech savvy and aptitude for learning on the job
• Ability to work in Team environment and independently within a project team
• Significant previous experience of the preparation of schematic and layout drawings including supporting engineering calculations. Understanding for design of Heating/ Cooling - Tap water, sewage, drainage, Pumps, Controls for plumbing systems
• Experience of working in 2-D and 3-D environment
• A big plus would be:
• Good experience of software’s like Revit, MagiCAD for AutoCAD, Solibri, Navisworks, Bluebeam, HAP and Cadium.
• Been working with Swedish design of piping systems such as ventilation, plumbing, sewer, cooling, heating and domestic water, Transmission calculation.
• Experience of 3-D coordination
• CFD Analysis using appropriate software like, Ansys Fluent, SimScale, Autodesk CFD
• Knowledge of Swedish standards and regulations
