Job summary

MN Engineering Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Machine Design) to lead design and development of mechanical systems. You will liaise with clients to capture requirements and coordinate with design and plant teams to ensure accuracy and quality.

The role requires 3-6 years in machine design, strong Solid Edge skills, and proficiency in reading drawings, GD&T, and ASME codes. You will manage complex assemblies and ensure safe, robust designs for manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
• 3-6 years experience in machine design or related field.
• Hands-on Solid Edge experience with 3D modelling and parametric design.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

• For this role, the designer will be engaged in the design and development of machines/products/mechanical systems. This will involve liaising with clients to fully understand project needs, communicating with the design and plant team to ensure accuracy and quality of design.
• Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate machining/fabrication of components to build the machine.
• Work with clients to ensure quality design and point out potential quality issues. This will include identifying the potential pitfalls in the machine design and development process.
• Inspect finished designs and drawings to ensure they meet the required standards for manufacturing.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with 3-6 years experience in machine design or a relevant field.
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in Solid Edge. Having hands-on experience in Solid Edge is an essential requirement for this role. Should demonstrate expertise in 3D modelling and parametric design using Solid Edge.
• Experience in machine concept design, detailed design, managing large assemblies in Solid Edge, and safety guarding.
• Ability to read complex drawings and work intent, and understand the tasks involved in machine development.
• Excellent problem-solving and skill in attention to detail to focus on and notice all aspects of a task or situation.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good in solid mechanics fundamentals and strength of materials.
• Knowledge of mechanical standard components.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong Knowledge of GD &T and ASME codes.
• Good documentation skills.
