Job summary

India Health Link is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer (1-2 years) in Chennai (Work From Office) to join our Product Development team. You will create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, design sheet metal enclosures, and drive projects from concept through production while collaborating with electronics, firmware, and software teams to build healthcare kiosk products.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of mechanical product design experience.
• Proficiency in FreeCAD (Mandatory).
• SolidWorks (Preferred) or Autodesk Inventor/Fusion 360.
• Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of fasteners, bearings, hinges, and standard mechanical components.
• Ability to assemble, evaluate, and troubleshoot prototypes.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Design sheet metal enclosures, brackets, mounts, and assemblies.
• Develop products from concept through prototype to production.
• Perform mechanical fitment, tolerance stack-up, and interference analysis.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
• Support prototype assembly, testing, and design improvements.
• Work closely with electrical, embedded, and software teams for product integration.
• Resolve manufacturing and assembly issues through design modifications.
• Coordinate with vendors for fabrication, machining, sheet metal, and prototype development.

About The Role
