Sugna Sponge & Power Private Limited in Tadipatri, Andhra Pradesh, operates a integrated steel manufacturing plant with a captive power plant. The Assistant Manager / Engineer - Mechanical will lead CPP mechanical maintenance across turbines, boilers, pumps, gearboxes and piping to ensure reliable power generation.

The role requires 8–12 years in CPP/thermal plants, a mechanical engineering degree, and hands-on experience with rotating equipment, alignment and root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in CPP/thermal power plant.
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with turbines, boilers, pumps, gearboxes and piping.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of CPP mechanical equipment.
• Maintain boiler, turbine, pumps, compressors, cooling water systems, gearboxes, valves and piping.
• Coordinate annual shutdowns and overhauls.
• Reduce downtime through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor equipment health, vibration and lubrication practices.
• Coordinate with Operations, Electrical and C&I departments.
• Maintain maintenance history, PM schedules and spare parts inventory.
• Supervise engineers, technicians and contractor manpower.
• Ensure statutory, safety and environmental compliance.
• Drive reliability improvement and maintenance cost optimization.

Job Purpose

To lead mechanical maintenance activities of the Captive Power Plant by ensuring reliable operation of turbines, boilers, pumps, compressors, piping systems and auxiliary equipment for uninterrupted and safe power generation.
