Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Planning Incharge responsible for project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and progress control on construction projects in Mumbai. The role involves preparing baseline schedules, monitoring progress, coordinating with site teams, and ensuring timely completion of milestones while maintaining cost and resource efficiency.

The candidate will prepare detailed schedules, develop WBS, track progress, and generate weekly/monthly reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 5–10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for high-rise residential construction.
• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project and advanced Excel reporting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Develop baseline schedules, WBS, and project timelines.
• Identify critical path activities and monitor schedule risks.
• Track progress against baselines and prepare MIS reports, dashboards and progress presentations.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement and subcontract teams to align with the schedule.
• Assist in resource loading, manpower and equipment planning; support cost monitoring and productivity analysis.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules (2-3 weeks) and weekly/monthly planning reports.
• Identify schedule risks and assist in Extension of Time (EOT) and claim documentation.

The Planning Incharge will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and progress control for construction projects. The role involves preparing baseline schedules, monitoring project progress, coordinating with site teams, and ensuring timely completion of project milestones while maintaining cost and resource efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Develop baseline schedules, WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), and project timelines.
• Identify critical path activities and monitor schedule risks.

Progress Monitoring

• Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against baseline plans.
• Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and progress presentations for management review.
• Conduct delay analysis and recovery planning.

Coordination

• Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement, and subcontract teams to ensure alignment with the project schedule.
• Participate in project review meetings and planning discussions.

Resource & Cost Planning

• Assist in resource loading, manpower planning, and equipment planning.
• Support cost monitoring and productivity analysis in coordination with project controls.

Reporting

• Prepare weekly/monthly planning reports.
• Maintain look-ahead schedules (2-week / 3-week plans).
• Update project schedules and provide early warnings for potential delays.

Risk & Delay Management

• Identify potential schedule risks and mitigation plans.
• Support preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) and claim documentation when required.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling in high rise residential construction projects.

Technical Skills

• Strong working knowledge of:
• Primavera P6
• Microsoft Project
• Microsoft Excel (advanced reporting)
• Knowledge of construction methodologies and sequencing.
• Understanding of EVM (Earned Value Management) is preferred.
