Quadrangle is seeking an experienced Mathematics teacher for a CBSE residential school in Indore district. The role involves teaching Mathematics to Middle to Senior Secondary levels, delivering engaging lessons, and aligning with CBSE curricula.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics from a recognised university.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification from a recognised institution.
  • For Senior Secondary teaching, a Master's degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics along with B.Ed. will be preferred, subject to applicable CBSE qualification requirements.
  • CTET/TET qualification will be an advantage, where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics across Middle to Senior Secondary levels and CBSE syllabus.
  • Prepare annual, term-wise and lesson-wise teaching plans; differentiate instruction.
  • Prepare tests, assessments and CBSE exam readiness programs; maintain records.

Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
  • Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and the school's academic framework.
  • Teach Mathematics across the appropriate grades, including Middle, Secondary and/or Senior Secondary levels, depending on the school's requirements.
  • Develop strong conceptual understanding of:
    • Algebra
    • Geometry
    • Trigonometry
    • Calculus
    • Statistics and Probability
    • Coordinate Geometry
    • Arithmetic and Number Systems
    • Mathematical Reasoning and Applications
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to cater to different learning abilities and styles.
  • Encourage students to develop logical reasoning, analytical thinking and independent problem-solving skills.
  • Relate mathematical concepts to real-life situations and interdisciplinary applications.
  • Use technology, digital tools, simulations and appropriate educational resources to enhance learning.
  • Create a classroom environment that encourages questioning, curiosity and mathematical exploration.
2. Academic Planning & Curriculum Delivery
  • Prepare annual, term-wise and lesson-wise teaching plans.
  • Ensure timely completion of the prescribed CBSE syllabus.
  • Develop worksheets, assignments, projects, practice papers and enrichment material.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students with varying academic abilities.
  • Provide additional academic support to students who require remediation.
  • Design extension/enrichment activities for high-performing students.
  • Collaborate with the Mathematics Department to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery and assessment.
3. Assessment & Examination
  • Prepare and conduct class tests, periodic assessments, projects and examinations.
  • Evaluate student work accurately and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Track and analyse student performance and identify areas requiring intervention.
  • Prepare students systematically for CBSE Board examinations.
  • Conduct revision and examination-readiness programmes.
  • Develop question papers and assessment material in accordance with CBSE assessment patterns.
  • Maintain accurate academic and assessment records.
  • Work towards continuous improvement in student learning outcomes and examination results.
4. Student Mentoring & Academic Support
  • Act as an academic mentor to assigned students.
  • Identify individual learning gaps and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Encourage students to develop effective study habits and independent learning skills.
  • Guide students in academic goal-setting and subject selection where required.
  • Support students preparing for Mathematics Olympiads, competitive examinations, quizzes and inter-school competitions.
  • Encourage participation in Mathematics clubs, projects and STEM-related activities.
5. Residential / Boarding School Responsibilities

The Mathematics Teacher is expected to contribute actively to the school's residential life and holistic student development.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Participating in the school's House system and residential programme.
  • Supporting the Housemaster/Housemistress in mentoring and supervising students.
  • Undertaking designated evening, weekend or residential duties as per the school's duty roster.
  • Providing academic support during supervised study/prep periods.
  • Monitoring students' academic routines, discipline and wellbeing.
  • Participating in residential activities, excursions, educational trips and school events.
  • Building positive, professional relationships with boarding students.
  • Acting as a responsible adult and role model for students in the residential environment.
  • Following all school safeguarding, child-protection and student welfare policies.
6. Co-curricular & Enrichment Activities
  • Develop and lead Mathematics/ STEM-related clubs and activities.
  • Organise Mathematics quizzes, competitions, exhibitions and problem-solving challenges.
  • Encourage students to participate in inter-school Mathematics competitions and Olympiads.
  • Introduce practical applications of Mathematics through projects and experiential learning.
  • Support school-wide academic and cultural events.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives involving Mathematics, Science, Technology and other subjects.
7. Student Welfare & Pastoral Responsibilities
  • Create an inclusive, respectful and supportive learning environment.
  • Develop positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Identify academic, behavioural or emotional concerns and communicate them through the appropriate pastoral channels.
  • Work closely with House staff, counsellors and academic leaders to support students.
  • Encourage values such as discipline, perseverance, integrity, collaboration and resilience.
8. Parent & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress.
  • Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings and academic review discussions.
  • Provide meaningful feedback on student strengths, learning gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, House staff and school leadership to support student development.
9. Professional Responsibilities

Candidate Profile
Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics from a recognised university.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification from a recognised institution.
  • For Senior Secondary teaching, a Master's degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics along with B.Ed. will be preferred, subject to applicable CBSE qualification requirements.

Experience
  • 510 years of teaching experience in a reputed CBSE/ICSE/international/residential school.
  • Experience teaching Classes IX–XII will be preferred.
  • Strong experience in preparing students for CBSE Board examinations.
  • Experience in teaching advanced Mathematics at Senior Secondary level will be an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a boarding/residential school will be preferred.
  • Experience mentoring students or handling House responsibilities will be an added advantage.
