Job summary

Belden is seeking a Buyer/Material Planner to support procurement and material planning in our manufacturing operations. The role involves BOM material procurement, managing imports and local suppliers, and converting purchase requisitions to purchase orders to ensure uninterrupted production.

You will track orders, monitor supplier performance, and Coordinate with the planning team to meet material requirements and delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
• Experience in manufacturing or automotive industry preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procure BOM materials and manage imports and local suppliers.
• Convert PRs to POs and monitor delivery to avoid line stoppages.
• Track open orders, maintain VMI stock, and monitor SPE/KPIs (OTD).
• Coordinate with Strategic Sourcing and vendors for timely fulfillment.

Job description

Buyer/Material Planner

Key skills:

• Detail working and knowledge of BOM material procurement.
• Handling the Import as well as local suppliers.
• Handling the procurement activities of all products like PCBA, PSU, Sheetmetal, Bought-out parts, plastic molding, etc.
• Understanding the total P2P cycle.
• Converting Purchase requisition to Purchase Orders (PO).
• SAP MM Module.
• Send POs to suppliers and obtain delivery confirmations.
• Track open orders and ensure timely material delivery to prevent production line stoppages.
• Monitoring and re-filling VMI stock.
• Monitoring of Frame order, safety stock levels at supplier end and get monthly status.
• Send monthly Supplier Performance Evaluation (SPE) reports and monitor KPIs such as OTD to CRD/FCD.
• Attend daily production and weekly PMC meetings to review material requirements and status.
• Coordinate with suppliers for delivery dates and order fulfillment.
• Vendor Advance Payment approval and co-ordination.
• Lead time, MOQ and SPQ monitoring and updation in SAP Material master.
• Co-ordinate with Strategic Sourcing team on supplier related issues.

Logistics & Documentation

• Share forecasts from planning with suppliers.
• Manage freight for import shipments (Air/Sea) and coordinate nominations.
• Liaise with the logistics team for customs clearance and timely receipt.
• Coordinate with warehouse on GRN issues and finance on Invoice Receipt (IR) concerns.

Issue Resolution & Compliance

• Resolve vendor payment disputes and address blocked stock weekly.
• Organize the return of rejected materials or obtain Credit Notes (CN) from suppliers.
• Ensure full compliance with safety, legal, statutory, environmental, and Beldens global IMS policies.

What you will bring

• Bachelor's Degree Any specialization.
• Production/ Electronics Engineering
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards preferred
• 7+ years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
• Strong background in manufacturing, engineering, or automotive industry preferred.
• Proven track record in line feeding, material planning, etc.
• Experience in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
• Leadership and team-building capabilities
• Knowledge of EHS, ISO/IATF, and regulatory compliance
