Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. in Mumbai is seeking a Material Planner to identify shortages, plan procurement, and drive inventory control across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

You will work with manufacturing, sourcing, and logistics to ensure timely production and on-time dispatch, run monthly MRP, and optimize stock levels. Candidates should have a BE in Mechanical/Production/Automobile and 3–5 years of relevant experience; knowledge of SAP and MIS is preferred.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical/Production/Automobile is required.
• Experience in manufacturing supply chains and inventory planning.
• Strong analytical and coordination skills.
• Exposure to SAP and MIS tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify risks and drive actions with suppliers, manufacturing, and logistics.
• Proactively plan shortages and production demands with the manufacturing team.
• Drive inventory control of Raw materials, WIP and JIT per policy.
• Optimize inventory levels and target inventory days.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project schedules and roll out new parts.
• Analyze daily/weekly shortages and plan actions.

Job description

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:

• Identify, create visibility, and drive actions risks associated with fulfilment of production requirements by closely working with suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and all relevant stakeholders.
• Regularly work with manufacturing team for proactive shortages, short cycle shipments as well as production demands and proactive material planning.
• Drive the inventory control of Raw materials, WIP and JIT as per inventory entitlement as well as ensure control over slow moving/Obsolescence as per inventory policy.
• Further, keep on optimizing inventory levels and meeting the inventory days target.
• Identify and manage bottleneck and capacity constraints and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure timely dispatch of vendor aid materials to subcontractors and timely receipts of finished materials, reduce vendor-aid inventory discrepancy by monthly reconciliation.
• Close coordination with the cross-functional team to meet the project schedule.
• Work closely with sourcing and Component development teams to ensure successful roll out of the new parts.
• Analysing daily/weekly shortages and plan action accordingly.
• Knowledge about EN Implementation.
• Monthly MRP runs, Communicate schedule changes to suppliers.
