Responsibilities
- Market Analysis
- Conduct in‑depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the industry.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activities, and economic indicators to provide strategic insights.
- Develop market intelligence reports and present findings to senior management.
- Supplier Evaluation
- Assess and monitor the financial health, performance, and capabilities of suppliers.
- Utilize various tools and methodologies, such as Rapid Ratings and D&B SER Ratings, to evaluate supplier risk.
- Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and requirements.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights related to market and supplier performance.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
- Provide regular reports and presentations to business and supply chain leadership team.
- Strategic Sourcing Support
- Collaborate with category teams to develop and execute sourcing strategies based on market and supplier intelligence.
- Support supplier negotiation and contract management processes with data‑driven insights.
- Identify and recommend cost‑saving opportunities and process improvements.
Required Skills
- Over 7 years of Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Market Analysis experience with commodity‑focused or industrial companies, price reporting agencies, or consulting firms.
- Deep understanding of commodities, economics, and procurement.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills, capable of developing market insights and forecasts for direct/indirect procurement categories (e.g., Lithium, tin, energy, inflation, capital equipment, MRO).
- Well‑connected with external commodity and economic market data providers such as IHS, S&P Platts, Fastmarket, Argus.
- Ability to digest and translate data to drive business decisions.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple simultaneous projects, maintaining frequent communication with stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of Office 365, MS Excel, PowerBI, MS Access, SharePoint.
- Comfortable with large datasets; ability to generate insights from diverse news sources and data sets is highly valued.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
