Elchemy in Mumbai seeks a chemical market intelligence professional to research priority products, track prices across regional markets, and publish weekly briefs for sales and sourcing teams.

You will build dashboards with Excel and Power BI, ensure data quality, and translate market data into actionable recommendations. 3–6 years in chemical market intelligence; degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Economics; MBA is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in chemical or petrochemical market intelligence.
• Experience in chemical market research, price assessments, supply-demand analysis, and pricing databases.
• Strong understanding of chemical value chains, feedstocks, intermediates, and derivatives.
• Knowledge of trade data, freight markets, and Incoterms.
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or Tableau experience is an advantage.
• Industry contacts across producers, traders, and distributors.
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to convert market data into actionable business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research on priority chemical products and maintain pricing databases.
• Track prices across surfactants, solvents, glycols, oleochemicals, and industrial chemicals in India, China, Southeast Asia, and North America.
• Analyse feedstock, energy, freight, and other factors influencing chemical prices.
• Monitor supply-demand trends, plant shutdowns, capacity additions, trade flows, anti-dumping duties, and tariff changes.
• Prepare short-term and medium-term price outlooks.
• Publish weekly product briefs and monthly market reports for sales and sourcing teams.
• Support sales and sourcing decisions with pricing recommendations and market insights.
• Develop dashboards and use AI tools for market research.
• Ensure data accuracy, source reliability, and quality checks.
• Develop customer-facing market commentary and insights.
