Overview

This role is for Accenture Research global Chemical and Natural Resources (CNR) Research team.

The CNR Research Senior Analyst will support senior researchers and Accentures CNR industry leaders on both Thought Leadership reports / industry PoVs, as well as client research projects globally. This role's primary focus area will be chemicals, with natural resources (including metals, mining and forest products) being the secondary focus area.

Responsibilities will include leading small research projects and actively contributing to complex projects led by others. Candidate should have a strong research focus on both specialties and commodities. One must also have knowledge of industry sources and be able to critique them. A sound knowledge of the key issues changing the global chemical business and how it is converging with other industries. Knowledge on hot topics such as circular systems, digitalization, advanced materials, energy transition is a must. A basic understanding of the oil/gas/refining industries/ metals and mining, as well as downstream industries will also be important for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting and supporting the development of thought-provoking insights through market analysis and in-depth review of trends.
• Drawing on both traditional and innovative data sources and research methodologies to explore key questions.
• Analyzing large datasets and interpreting results using statistical techniques and data visualization tools
• Updating our proprietary in-house models and provides results to the practice when needed.
• Developing research insights and compelling business narratives alongside research leads.
• Presenting key findings in a structured and concise manner (with focus on insights).

• Ability to use techniques such as secondary research, company and market analysis, strategic analysis frameworks, interview-based research and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to make sense out of data, with ability to analyze, visualize, and interpret
• Able to learn and embrace new sources, tools, and skills, including alternative modes of research delivery/data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik etc.).
• Comfortable using Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to enhance research and content creation

Qualifications

• A bachelors degree, preferably in chemical engineering.
• A PG degree in business, such as business (MBA), economics or equivalent is a plus.

Work Experience

1-3 years maximum of business experience, preferable in a consulting environment, think tank, financial institution, or other 3rd party business research organization or demonstrated equivalent skill.
