Job summary

Elchemy is seeking a market intelligence professional to conduct in-depth chemical market research, track prices globally, and analyze factors shaping pricing. You will contribute to pricing strategies and briefing materials for sales and sourcing teams.

You will develop dashboards with product and technology teams, leveraging AI tools to enhance market insights and ensure data accuracy. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in chemical or petrochemical market intelligence.
• Experience in chemical market research, price assessments, supply-demand analysis, and pricing databases.
• Strong understanding of chemical value chains, feedstocks, intermediates, and derivatives.
• Knowledge of trade data, freight markets, and Incoterms.
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or Tableau experience is an advantage.
• Industry contacts across producers, traders, and distributors.
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to convert market data into actionable business recommendations.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Economics, or a related field.
• An MBA or postgraduate management degree is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research on priority chemical products and maintain pricing databases.
• Track prices across surfactants, solvents, glycols, oleochemicals, and industrial chemicals in India, China, Southeast Asia, and North America.
• Analyse feedstock, energy, freight, and other factors influencing chemical prices.
• Monitor supply-demand trends, plant shutdowns, capacity additions, trade flows, anti-dumping duties, and tariff changes.
• Prepare short-term and medium-term price outlooks.
• Publish weekly product briefs and monthly market reports for sales and sourcing teams.
• Support sales and sourcing decisions with pricing recommendations and market insights.
• Work with product and technology teams to develop dashboards and use AI tools for market research.
• Ensure data accuracy, source reliability, and quality checks.
• Develop customer-facing market commentary and insights.
