Job summary

Responsible for supply and demand balances for specified solids products, plus back-up for specified others

Conduct Supply-Demand balancing process:

  • Coordinate cross functional team in maintaining the global supply/demand balance on Asset Production Lines, grade/packaging combinations, and numerous supply points
  • Perform Supply/Demand balancing tasks (APO SNP module)
    • Collaborate with the Sales Demand Analyst/Planner and field Sales personnel to develop accurate demand forecasts
    • Work with Product Management and Sales to analyze and evaluate requests for additional demand and changes on production assets
    • Review feed and supply resource capacity
    • Balance supply and demand plan capabilities
    • Release balanced sales plan
  • Agree and publish final sales plan to all regional stakeholders
    • Maintain Supply/Demand balances
    • Conduct monthly Supply/Demand S&OP review meeting (Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing)
    • Resolve supply issues including allocation product to markets served
  • Lead Quick Response Teams (QRT) to assist in the proactive management supply, quality and logistical issues and to mitigate customer impacts
  • Develop and facilitate the annual Corporate Plan for inventory targets, discretionary builds and supply/demand balances
  • Ensure master data accuracy and maintenance
  • Work with Manufacturing facilities to optimize production schedule
    • Set priorities for production schedule development and changes
    • Faciliate monthly Run Plan process: conduct analysis and prepare/present detailed communication package to align the cross functional organization on the S/D balance, commercial signals, and outlooks for production, forecast, sales and inventory
    • Align manufacturing capability with sales demand while working to optimize inventory levels
    • Assist prioritization of production in case of feed supply issues
    • Participates to structural improve initiatives (cycle optimization, production wheel optimization, inventory target optimization etc)
    • Set up production year plan for each production line on product family-level in agreement with Site SC and Manufacturing
Support Demand Management Process
  • Point of contact for volume management specialists, replenisher team, and sales on availability issues
    • Set supply indicators to support order inflow management by sales
  • Approve over and non-forecasted orders
    • Define APO allocation strategy and agree allocation levels on a monthly basis
  • Monitor order inflow versus forecast; review anomalies with sales
  • Ensure proactive communication with Business stakeholders in case of Supply Issues
  • Coordinate with Logistics teams in case of impactful changes in Supply network
  • Facilitate Inventory Management processes:

    • Act as lead for achieving inventory targets, including management of aged, non-prime and surplus inventories for given product family
    • Set and review EIO/APO/IBP targets for all SKUs within scope
      • Review and adjust system generated targets
      • Adjust/refine calculation parameters to increase accuracy over time
    • Coordinate annual inventory target review with Business Team during corporate plan
    • Coordinate annual SKU rationalization exercise with Product Management, Sales and Site SC

    Contribute to Supply Chain Improvement Initiatives

    • Contribute to Supply Chain optimization initiatives
    • Participate in Demand and or Supply Planning related networks
    • Participate in Business Segment Team meetings and initiatives as needed
    • Identify and implement opportunities to improve SPE
    • Identify S&OP related master data needs and participate in master data maintenance
    About You

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Familiarity with SAP IBP and APO - if no experience, ability to learn quickly
    • Good analytical skills with a fluent knowledge of Excel and Power point
    • Ability to drive functional excellence through a willingness to aggressively pursue new and creative approaches to resolve problems
    • Demonstrated sound business judgment, decision making skills, customer focus and strong GI mindset
    • Demonstrated strong leadership skills (either formal or informal) and ability to create ownership and commitment to the organization's purpose
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and promote change to achieve desired results
    • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment
