Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a Demand Planner in Bengaluru to drive end-to-end forecast processes, generate accurate statistical forecasts and align demand/supply plans across EMTech, EMPS, Upstream and Procurement. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, advanced analytics, and proactive collaboration within a global energy leader.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; supply chain background is a plus.
  • 2–10 years relevant experience in supply chain demand planning.
  • Strong analytics background and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work in a team.
  • Ability to operate in virtual environments and collaborate across functions.
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Excel; experience with SAP IBP/APO, Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Python or R for scripting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end forecast processes and generate Statistical forecasts.
  • Align changes to demand/supply plan and update historical data for forecasting accuracy.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communications between EMTech, EMPS, Upstream, Procurement and Supply Chain.
  • Lead monthly alignment meetings and resolve forecast outliers and constraints.
  • Ensure unconstrained forecast is available and validated by Supply Planners.

  • Drive consistent execution processes for demand planning activities related to Upstream and EMPS planning regionally and across business units.
  • Critically assess and analyze data (demand plans, inventory reports, supply plans, consumption plans, lead time) and understand implications – recognize deviations from the normal and make connections to correct.
  • Liaise between EMTech, EMPS, Upstream, Procurement and Supply Chain.
  • Steer alignment between all parties — Demand Planner leads the demand planning meetings and discussion, Supply Planner validates the final unconstrained forecast Coordinate forecast updates / changes

Lead end-to-end (E2E) forecast process o Generate Statistical (STAT) forecast

  • Align on changes to demand/supply plan, understand lead time implications to demand plan, update historical ship data to improve forecast
  • Create interactive statistical forecast, as necessary and maintain Quadrant Analysis/playbook
  • Optimize demand segmentation with Engineering as needed
  • Guide process and ensure tools are used
  • Lead monthly meeting and drive alignment between Site, EMTech and Procurement, as needed
  • Review outliers and provide recommendations
  • Ensure unconstrained forecast (UCF) is available and validated by Supply Planners
About You

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain (or related fields such as Applied Mathematics/Statistics)
  • 2 -10 years relevant work experience in supply chain demand planning
  • Strong background in analytics
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills
  • Function effectively in a team environment, including virtual environments is critical
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including conceptual capabilities
  • Strong judgment, including ability to make quality decisions
  • Strong persuasion / communication skills / influence without direct authority
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
  • Customer oriented mindset and focus
  • Effectively interface with internal functions
  • Understand Supply Chain Fundamentals and Supply & Demand Principles
  • Proficient in SAP Systems and MS Excel knowledge is critical
  • Experience in demand planning roles in Chemical, FMCG, Manufacturing, E -Commerce preferred
  • Experienced in conducting analyses and providing recommendations using SAP IBP/APO, Tableau and/or Power Bl for visualization, Power Query, Excel
    • Knowledge of R and/or Python for scripting is preferred
