Job summary

Tohands is seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer to ensure the quality of our applications. You will design and execute test cases, perform various testing types, and track defects in collaboration with product and development teams.

You will analyze requirements, create test data, and report on quality metrics while contributing to continuous process improvements in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Manual QA, preferably with mobile testing.
• Strong foundation in software testing fundamentals and lifecycle.
• Proficient in black box testing techniques and test design.
• Experience with test management tools and reporting.
• Good communication and collaboration within cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer with strong testing fundamentals to ensure the quality and reliability of our applications. You will be responsible for analyzing requirements, designing and executing test cases, validating business workflows, and tracking defects while working closely with product and development teams. This role requires hands-on experience in manual testing, test case design, defect management, and test reporting, along with the ability to think through real-world scenarios and edge cases as the product evolves rapidly in a startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, user stories, user flows, and functional specifications to identify test scenarios
• Design, review, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test data
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing
• Identify, document, and track software defects and ensure timely resolution in collaboration with the development team
• Participate in requirement review meetings and provide feedback from a QA perspective
• Generate and share test execution and quality reports
• Work closely with developers and product owners to clarify requirements and resolve issues
• Participate in test planning, test estimation, and test execution cycles
• Ensure test coverage aligns with business and technical requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Manual QA, preferably with experience testing mobile
• applications (Android / iOS)
• Strong foundation in software testing fundamentals, including SDLC, STLC, and the defect
• life cycle
• Strong understanding of black box test design techniques, such as Equivalence Partitioning,
• Boundary Value Analysis, Decision Table Testing, and State Transition Testing
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (Testiny, TestRail, Zephyr, etc.)
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate quality issues clearly
• Ability to design and document clear, concise, and well-structured test cases
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and collaboration within cross-functional teams

Good to Have

• Basic knowledge of API testing (Postman)
• Experience in POS, Fintech, or transaction-based systems
• Knowledge of test automation concepts (not mandatory)
• Basic understanding of scripting or programming languages is a plus, but not mandatory
• ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) certification or equivalent testing certification
