Job summary

e-Stone Information Technology Private Limited is seeking a Mobile QA Engineer to design and execute test plans for Android and iOS apps in a fintech setting. You will perform manual testing, write automation scripts with Appium (Java or other languages), and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feature quality.

The role involves API testing, defect tracking in Jira, and participation in Agile Scrum ceremonies.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of hands-on manual QA for Android and iOS apps.
• Fintech/domain knowledge is preferred.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Solid automation experience with Java + Appium for mobile testing.
• Experience with Maven and Jenkins; integrating automated tests.
• Clear test plans, test cases, and test reports creation.
• API testing and automation with Rest Assured; Jira usage.
• Familiarity with performance testing (JMeter) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for new and existing features on Android and iOS devices.
• Perform thorough manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Able to write mobile automation test script in Appium with java or any language.
• Execute automated test scripts and analyse results.
• Identify, document, and track software defects and issues using a bug-tracking system (e.g., Jira), ensuring clear, concise, and reproducible steps.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and designers to understand product requirements and ensure all features are implemented correctly.
• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues that may be missed by formal test cases.
• Verify defect fixes and conduct regression testing to ensure new changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to provide feedback and contribute to process improvements.
• Manage testing on various mobile devices, OS versions, and screen sizes to ensure cross-platform compatibility and optimal performance.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Should be able test rest APIs, able to do defect triage and understand the RCA.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience : 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in manual software quality assurance, with a strong focus on Android and iOS mobile applications.
• Domain Expertise : Proven experience working in the fintech or financial markets domain.
• Testing Methodologies : Solid understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), software testing life cycles (STLC), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Technical Skills :
• Strong experience in automation using Java + Appium (Java/any language) for mobile testing.
• Experience with Maven, CI/CD tools like Jenkins and integrating automated test suites.
• Proficiency in creating clear and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports.
• Strong Experience with API testing and API automation with Rest Assured.
• Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Familiarity with mobile testing concepts, including network conditions, battery usage, and push notifications.
• Good to have Knowledge of performance testing (JMeter).
