Job summary

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. in Bengaluru is seeking a senior 기ngineer to lead the development of underbody architecture for various vehicle platforms, including EVs.

You will optimize layouts to balance weight, performance, and cost while ensuring integration with chassis, powertrain, and battery systems. Collaborating with BIW teams and aligning with crashworthiness and stiffness targets, you will support NVH, durability, and fatigue improvements across programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in lead roles on complete vehicle architecture projects.
• Familiarity with underbody layouts and crashworthiness targets.
• Exposure to global OEM vehicle development programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of underbody vehicle architecture for passenger, commercial, or EV platforms.
• Define and optimize underbody layouts with structural, packaging, safety, and manufacturing considerations.
• Ensure integration of chassis, suspension, powertrain, battery systems (EV), exhaust, steering, and braking systems.
• Drive package optimization for weight, performance and cost.
• Collaborate with BIW teams for floor structures and reinforcements.
• Ensure crashworthiness and stiffness targets are achieved.
• Support NVH, durability and fatigue improvements.

Job description

• Lead the development of underbody vehicle architecture for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, or EV platforms.
• Define and optimize vehicle underbody layouts considering structural, packaging, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
• Ensure optimum integration of chassis, suspension, powertrain, battery systems (EV), exhaust, steering, and braking systems.
• Drive vehicle package optimization for weight, performance, and cost.
• Define underbody load paths and structural concepts.
• Collaborate with Body-in-White (BIW) teams for floor structures, cross members, side members, and reinforcements.
• Ensure crashworthiness and structural stiffness targets are achieved.
• Support NVH, durability, and fatigue performance improvements.
