Job summary

Force Motors in Pune, India is seeking a skilled BIW/Body-in-White design engineer to design and develop upper and underbody structures, closures, and interior/exterior components. You will create CAD models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation for release.

Collaborating with manufacturing, CAE, testing, purchasing, and suppliers, you will ensure DFMEA, DVP, and vehicle regulations compliance, while supporting prototype reviews and product validations.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience in BIW design for automotive applications.
• Hands-on in Closures & Mechanisms development.
• Knowledge of Interior and Exterior systems.
• Proficient in CAD tools (CATIA V5, NX, Creo).
• Understanding GD&T and manufacturing processes.
• Familiar with PLM and engineering change management.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop BIW components, including Upper Body and Underbody structures.
• Develop and validate Closures & Mechanisms such as doors, hood, tailgate, fenders, locks, latches, and hinges.
• Design and integration of Interior Components including trims, carpets, headliners, and plastic parts.
• Develop Exterior Components such as bumpers, grilles, claddings, and other styling elements.
• Create and release CAD models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, CAE, testing, purchasing, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with design standards, DFMEA, DVP, and vehicle regulations.
• Support prototype development, design reviews, issue resolution, and product validation activities.
• Drive cost optimization, weight reduction, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, manufacturing processes, and automotive development cycles.
• Knowledge of PLM tools and engineering change management processes.
