KLA is seeking a Manager of Knowledge Services to lead a team of experienced Technical Writers, drive process improvements, and ensure on-time, high-quality documentation. You will coach, hire writers when openings arise, and keep the team motivated and focused.

You will manage end-to-end documentation operations, align with Engineering on roadmaps, create documentation plans, track multiple projects, and report progress to stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience as a Technical Writer.
• 3 years leading or managing projects and teams.
• 1 year international experience, or experience working with U.S customers preferred.
• Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Must be ready to travel when required.
• Strong documentation tool experience, using DITA XML authoring tools (such as Oxygen XML Editor) and experience with Content Management Systems (CMS).
• Must be familiar with concepts of content reuse and must be able guide writers on reuse concepts.

• Team responsibilities include conducting regular 1-1 meetings with the team members and running regular project meetings.
• Liaise with peer managers and division stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Align with Engineering managers to understand product roadmap and plan for resources accordingly.
• Create and manage documentation plan.
• Ensure that all the documents are delivered on time with good quality.
• Report progress to stakeholders on regular basis.
• Track and manage multiple projects across the team in a fast-paced environment
• Identify and address feedback on content quality and accuracy on a regular basis, to help improve user experience.

The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

As a manager of Knowledge Services team, you will lead a team of experienced Technical Writers, provide feedback, drive process improvements, and ensure documents are delivered on time with high quality. Your role would be that of a Manager and a coach for the team. You will also be responsible to hire the best Technical Writers from the industry when there are openings and ensure the writers on the team stay motivated and focused.
