Job summary

Nayara Energy is seeking a seasoned procurement professional to lead supplier management initiatives from Mumbai. The role focuses on managing supplier relationships, driving cost reductions, and leveraging data-driven insights for procurement decisions.

You will collaborate with Quality and Analytics teams, conduct supplier workshops, and develop monthly scorecards to track performance and continuous improvement. A BE with MBA preferred would be advantageous for strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• BE degree required; MBA preferred for advanced procurement roles.
• Experience of 5-8 years in supplier management.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Job Purpose: The job role will be responsible for ensuring Supplier Management and data driven decision making into the procurement organization. This position will interact with people within and out of the organization and will report to the respective Supplier Management lead.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Existing Supplier Management and Development
• Manage ongoing supplier relationships across categories.
• Review action items from supplier assessments and ensure timely closure.
• Conduct supplier workshops focused on production process improvements and design collaboration.
• Coordinate with suppliers on should-be costing across all categories.
• Work with the Quality team to incorporate scorecard findings into supplier evaluations.
• Collaborate with the analytics team to apply insights from spend data to supplier performance.
• Organize supplier meets and contribute insights on supplier performance.
• Ensure continuous improvement through regular review of past assessment actions.

New Supplier Development

• Facilitate identification of new suppliers across key categories
• Evaluate supplier qualifications and onboard selected vendors
• Support integration of new suppliers into company systems
• Conduct workshops to identify cost reduction opportunities and innovation potential.

Performance Management and Strategic Initiatives

• Finalize supplier performance templates and develop monthly scorecards.
• Communicate performance results to suppliers and track improvement actions.
• Drive supplier rewards and recognition programs
• Maintain an optimal supplier portfolio aligned with business needs.
• Promote collaboration with suppliers to achieve cost reduction and innovation goals.

Responsibilities And Metrics

• Increase % of business allocated to A-class suppliers identified through scorecards.
• Drive total cost of ownership reduction through supplier collaboration, workshops, and joint design initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with monthly and quarterly publication of supplier scorecards.
• Achieve target compliance for organizing supplier meets and rolling out star rating systems (minimum 2 per year)

• 5-8 years

Skills

Functional Skills:

• Functional expertise in Supplier Management & Procurement with cross functional exposure.
• Experience in working with Consultancy firm for Supplier Management is preferable.
• 6 Sigma and Supply chain certification preferable
