Key Responsibilities:
Experience in tender preparation, technical bid review and contracting for large chemical projects preferred
Developing long-term strategies and plans for the mechanical department, aligning them with the plant’s overall objectives, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Managing and leading a team of mechanical engineers, supervisors, technicians, and other personnel. Providing guidance, mentoring, and support for professional development.
Manage the department’s budget, allocate resources efficiently, and prioritize projects, maintenance activities, and upgrades to maximize equipment reliability and plant performance.
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for critical mechanical equipment, including compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, and rotating machinery, to ensure uptime and reliability.
Oversee and conduct regular inspections and tests of equipment to identify and address issues before they result in failures.
Investigate and analyse equipment failures to determine the root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Qualifications:
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Total Meter experience in chemical fertilizer plants maintenance, preferably in ammonia plant maintenance
Experience in static pressure vessels and rotary equipment like large compressors, steam turbines and multistage centrifugal pumps
Knowledge of various standards and codes like ASME, API, AD Merkblatter, TEMA and piping specifications
Knowledge in piping work and ability to read/prepare isometrics
Experience in large project execution including piping work and equipment erection/installation
Heavy lift experience will be an added advantage
Educational Qualifications
Candidate to be mechanical engineer graduate from NIT or any other relevant engineering institute of repute.
