Job description

Job Description

As a QMS manager, you will manage the development, implementation and maintenance of the QMS processes and knowledge of QMS standards. This role works collaboratively with the global quality team to align with quality system requirements, Micron practices, and external customer audits/visits. The manager is also the champion of the site quality improvement program toward a zero‑defect mindset.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
  • Manage Quality Management System: Monitor, review, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the QMS and its processes.
  • Define KPIs as per QMap, ensure targets are met or corrective actions are effectively implemented where targets are not met.
  • Communicate with global internal customers and external customers: Consult with department leadership on QMS standards and initiatives, promote awareness of QMS direction and status through global updates, and contribute to the promotion and awareness of customer requirements.
  • Champion Quality Improvement Program: Identify areas of opportunity to drive continual improvement toward zero defects and act as a site representative in critical network improvement programs.
  • Provide technical leadership and support: Maintain knowledge of QMS standards, methods, and tools; support internal functions on the application, maintenance, and improvement of quality systems and department‑specific processes; maintain knowledge of project management and tools; deliver presentations and training courses covering measurement, analysis, improvement, and control.
  • Manage and develop the team: Establish goals, conduct performance appraisals, coach, and provide career development to the QMS and PCS team; identify strengths and create development plans; provide guidance or mentoring as necessary.
  • Provide recognition and drive accountability: Promote teamwork, resolve conflict, and recognize good effort timely while promoting continual improvement.
Requirement & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent.
  • Lead Auditor for IATF16949 and ISO9001 requirements.
  • At least 18+ years’ experience in the semiconductor or EMS industry in a managerial role.
  • Familiarity with AIAG 5 core tools.
  • Proven ability to collaborate well with cross‑functional teams to understand needs and translate them into actionable plans, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and management skills along with outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Additional Qualifications
  • Proven track record as an internal auditor or Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, IATF 16949.
  • In‑depth knowledge and experience deploying FMEA, PPAP, control plans, SPC, and MSA.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and familiarity with advanced techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Experience working with external auditors and managing customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related field.
