Job summary

Mijas Consultants Jaipur is hiring a Senior Procurement role to lead strategic and operational sourcing of materials, tooling and services. You will ensure timely availability, drive supplier performance, and reduce costs through structured negotiations and VA/VE initiatives in an automotive-focused environment.

The role interfaces with PPC, Production, Quality, Stores, Engineering and Finance to optimise inventory, lead times and working capital while ensuring policy compliance and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategic procurement and supplier development.
• Exposure to automotive components and tooling procurement.
• Strong costing, negotiation and commercial acumen.
• Proficiency with ERP/SAP and supplier performance tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement of raw materials, castings, tooling, consumables, spares and services.
• Ensure material availability aligned with production and inventory needs.
• Drive cost reduction, VA/VE, benchmarking and negotiations.
• Develop suppliers for quality, cost, delivery and capacity.
• Negotiate price, terms, lead time, MOQs and commercial conditions.
• Develop alternate sources and mitigate single-source risks.
• Monitor supplier delivery, quality and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with PPC, Production, Quality, Stores, Engineering and Finance.

ROLE PURPOSE

Lead strategic and operational procurement to ensure timely availability of materials, consumables, tooling and services at the right quality, cost and delivery, while driving cost reduction and supplier performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage procurement of raw materials, castings, forgings, tooling, consumables, spares and services.
• Ensure timely material availability aligned with production and inventory requirements.
• Drive cost reduction, VA/VE, price benchmarking and commercial negotiations.
• Develop, evaluate and manage suppliers for quality, cost, delivery and capacity.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, lead time, MOQ and commercial conditions.
• Develop alternate sources and reduce single-source / supply risks.
• Monitor supplier delivery, quality, shortages and corrective actions.
• Work closely with PPC, Production, Quality, Stores, Engineering, Finance and Maintenance.
• Optimise inventory, purchase lead time and working capital.
• Ensure compliance with approved purchase policies, delegation limits and vendor governance.
• Maintain procurement MIS covering open POs, savings, price variance, supplier performance and shortages.
• Drive supplier development, localisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
