Job description

We are looking for a detail-orientedProject Finance Managerto manage budgeting, financial planning, fund utilization, compliance, and reporting forstartup initiatives and government-funded projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge ofaccounting principles, project finance, grant management, and financial compliance, along with the ability to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, auditors, and funding agencies.

A key part of the role involves ensuringfinancial discipline, accurate reporting, audit readiness, and compliance with grant conditions, procurement guidelines, and statutory requirements. The candidate will work closely with program and leadership teams to ensure efficient utilization of funds and timely financial reporting aligned with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailedproject budgets, financial plans, and cost estimatesaligned with project deliverables.
  • Trackbudget vs actual expenditureand highlight financial risks or variances.
  • Manage financial documentation forgovernment grants, CSR-funded programs, and collaborative projects.
  • PrepareUtilization Certificates (UC), Statements of Expenditure (SoE), financial reports, and MIS dashboards.
  • Ensure compliance withgrant guidelines, procurement policies, and statutory financial requirements.
  • Review invoices, purchase orders, vendor contracts, and payment documentation.
  • Coordinate with program teams to ensure expenses are aligned with approved budget heads.
  • Support preparation of financial inputs forproject proposals, partnerships, and funding applications.
  • Maintain proper financial records to supportinternal and external audits.
  • Monitor receivables, payables, and fund flow planning for project continuity.
  • Support implementation of financial tracking tools and improve financial documentation processes.
  • Work closely with leadership team to provide financial insights for decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience inproject finance, accounting, financial reporting, or grant management.
  • Strong understanding ofbudgeting, financial planning, and accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing financial reports (Using AI and any reporting Tools) and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Working knowledge ofGST basics, invoicing, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency inMS Excel(budget trackers, MIS reports, financial summaries).
  • Familiarity with accounting tools such asTally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and structured documentation approach.
  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working ongovernment-funded projects, research programs, or startup ecosystem initiatives.
  • Understanding ofgrant utilization frameworks and procurement processes.
  • Experience supportingaudit processes and financial compliance reviews.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exposure tofinancial planning for innovation programs, Centres of Excellence, or public sector initiatives.
  • Familiarity with documentation requirements for institutional or grant-based funding.
