Job summary

NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore invites an Assistant Manager Finance to oversee program finance, budgeting, and audits. You will coordinate with the accounting team, maintain documentation, and produce monthly program PnL.

Ideal candidate has 3–5 years as Finance Associate, degree in finance or accounting, strong MS Office and Zoho Books, plus exposure to Power BI and startup ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Finance Associate.
  • Exposure to startup incubation ecosystem; FP&A experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Cross-functional mindset and ability to interface with program teams.
  • MS Office proficiency; Zoho Books experience.
  • Exposure to Power BI and dashboards is a plus.
  • Attention to detail; deadline-oriented with a learning mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Program finance and operational support.
  • Track budget vs actuals.

  • Meet with program teams on progress.
  • Coordinate with accounting for invoices per budgets in Zoho Books.
  • Assist in budget preparation as needed.
  • Track rate card updates.
  • MIS reporting.
  • Publish monthly and quarterly program PnL.
  • Assist in quarterly consolidation of PnL across programs.
  • Ensure compliance.
  • Submit quarterly CSR fund utilization to donors.
  • Assist in audits by donors.

Position: Assistant Manager Finance

Reporting: To the Finance Manager/ CFO

Who we are

The NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) is IIM Bangalore's startup hub and incubation centre. The centre is structured as a section-8 not-for-profit entity.

NSRCEL's mission is to support ventures in the start-up ecosystem that demonstrate potential to create significant economic and societal impact. This financial year alone NSRCEL has engaged with 1106 ventures through 13 unique program tracks across 82 towns in the country.

NSRCEL is supported by Department of Science and Technology and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. NSRCEL has partners with corporates like Alstom, Capgemini, Goldman Sachs, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Pernod Ricard India Foundation and SBI Foundation, among others to support idea stage and early-revenue stage entrepreneurs and startups in focussed themes of climate-tech, women entrepreneurship, and social impact.

What you will be doing

  • Program Finance & operational support
  • Track Budget vs Actuals
  • Maintain adequate documentation for future audits
  • Monthly reconciliation & address open issues
  • Conduct periodic meetings with program teams on the progress of the program
  • Coordination with Accounting team for proper accounting of invoices as per the budgets maintained in Zoho books
  • Assistance in preparation of Budgets as and when required
  • Track Rate card updates
  • MIS Reporting
  • Publish Monthly & Quarterly Program PnL
  • Track Budgets vs Actuals
  • Assist in quarterly consolidation of PnL across programs
  • Compliance
  • Submission of Quarterly utilization of CSR funds to donors as per agreed timelines
  • Assistance in Audits performed by the Donor or their auditors
Requirements

What you will need to bring to the table

  • Bachelors /master's degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience working as a Finance Associate
  • Exposure to Start up incubation/ecosystem, Financial Planning and Analysis role will be an added advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Cross functional mindset & ability to front end with Program teams
  • Reporting Skills, hands on with MS Office tools, Zoho books
  • Exposure to Power BI, Dashboards will be an added advantage
