Job summary

Kores is seeking a skilled Production Planning & Control professional to oversee planning, procurement, inventory, and logistics for drilling rigs and related equipment. The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring ERP data accuracy.

You will lead procurement, stores, and logistics teams, optimize materials flow, and drive cost efficiencies while maintaining dispatch commitments. Strong ERP and Excel proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel required.
• Strong manufacturing, inventory planning and vendor negotiation knowledge.
• Proven leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• APICS CSCP/CPIM certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans aligned with sales forecasts and project orders for drilling rigs, assemblies, and accessories.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Design and Shopfloor teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
• Monitor production schedules to avoid bottlenecks and ensure adherence to dispatch commitments.
• Manage sourcing and procurement of high-value components; strengthen vendor base and negotiate terms for cost optimization.
• Ensure timely issuance and monitoring of MR, Indent, PO, GRN, QC clearance, and reconciliation processes.
• Optimize inventory levels for raw materials, WIP and finished products to reduce carrying cost.
• Oversee inbound logistics for domestic and imported materials and outbound distribution to project sites.
• Drive ERP data integrity and dashboards; improve reporting for inventory, production performance and supply chain KPIs.
• Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions and mitigate vendor risks.

Role & responsibilities

Production Planning & Control

• Develop and implement production plans aligned with sales forecasts and project orders for drilling rigs, assemblies, and accessories.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Design, and Shopfloor teams (Machining, Fabrication, Assembly) to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
• Monitor production schedules to avoid bottlenecks and ensure adherence to dispatch commitments.

Supply Chain & Procurement Management

• Manage sourcing and procurement of high-value components such as hydraulic systems, drilling tools, fabricated structures, and imported parts.
• Strengthen vendor base and negotiate commercial terms for cost optimization.
• Ensure timely issuance and monitoring of MR, Indent, PO, GRN, QC clearance, and reconciliation processes.

Inventory & Material Flow Management

• Optimize inventory levels for raw materials, WIP, and finished drilling equipment to reduce carrying cost without affecting production.
• Monitor stock movement, aging analysis, and reconciliation of materials.
• Ensure structured control of spare parts and critical long-lead imported items.

Logistics & Distribution

• Oversee inbound logistics for domestic and imported materials.
• Manage outbound dispatch of drilling equipment and accessories to project sites.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for inter-state movement, export documentation, and regulatory norms.

ERP & Process Digitization

• Ensure accurate documentation and workflow management through ERP / SAP systems.
• Drive data-driven decision-making using ERP dashboards and advanced Excel tools.
• Improve reporting systems for inventory, production performance, and supply chain KPIs.

Risk & Continuity Planning

• Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, especially for imported and long lead-time components.
• Mitigate risks related to vendor dependency and raw material price volatility.

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead procurement, stores, logistics, and planning teams.
• Build a performance-driven culture focused on accountability and operational excellence.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication), inventory planning, and vendor negotiation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Certifications: APICS (CSCP/CPIM) is a plus.
