Job summary

Custom Capsules is seeking an experienced Production Head to oversee the manufacturing of empty capsules for pharmaceutical use. You will manage gelatin preparation, dip-molding lines, drying, inspection, packing, and packaging of capsules from a 100-strong workforce, ensuring quality, cost control, and timely delivery.

You will coordinate with the Sales team in the USA and EU for production planning, drive process improvements, lead cross-functional teams, and maintain ISO and GMP compliance

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute production activities based on Sales-driven schedule for USA and EU.
• Maintain process parameters to improve yield of saleable products.
• Lead monthly Production Dept. meetings with overseas Director and coordinate with US/EU teams.
• Lead cross-functional teams for capsule production, dispatch and handling customer complaints.
• Ensure ISO, GMP adherence and maintain documentation; prepare MIS reports.
• Coordinate with Utility & Engineering teams for maintenance and process improvements.

Role & responsibilities

Achieve targets for Output, Quality, Cost and Delivery Date through optimum use of manpower, material and machines.

You will be responsible for the manufacturing of empty capsules for pharmaceutical use. This involves preparation of gelatin solution and coloring; 3 dip molding production lines operating on 24 hours basis; drying area; physical & visual inspection and packing of finished product. Additionally, you will be responsible for packing operation for empty capsules purchased from a sister company.

Key Deliverables:

• a. Plan and execute production activities based on Production & Dispatch Schedule issued by Sales team in USA and EU. Schedule is based on plant capacity.
• b. Maintain and improve control over process parameters to increase saleable product yield.
• c. Lead monthly Production Department meeting with overseas Director. Coordinate communication with US and EU sales teams.
• d. Lead cross-functional teams for work related to capsule production, dispatch and customer complaints.
• e. Maintenance of ISO, GMP and good documentation practices. Preparing MIS reports.
• f. Coordinate with Utility team for daily breakdown and preventive maintenance related activities.
• g. Coordinate with the Engineering team on new equipment and process improvement projects for increasing output and improving quality.
• h. Leads team in developing new colors and sizes of our capsules and in coordination with QA qualifying new suppliers.
• i. Overall handling of issues that arise with a workforce of 100 workmen in coordination with HR Team.
• j. Annual goal setting, appraisal and training & development of direct reportees to achieve company goals and individual growth.

Preferred candidate profile

• a) Diploma / Degree in Chemical / Mechanical engineering or Graduate in Chemistry.
• b) 10+ Years of experience in continuous manufacturing process in Pharmaceutical / food processing / cosmetics / chemical industries.
